here’s the official word from fox: “produced natively in 1080p 60fps hlg and upconverted to 2160p 60fps. The broadcast will be offered in the fox sports and fox now apps in hdr10 and cable/satellite providers in various hdr formats.” so, it’s not pure 4k, but if you have a fancy new tv, you should notice an improvement in quality.

Watching the Super Bowl pre-game, and the image looks fantastic. The HDR gives a massive boost over SDR broadcast TV.

A vertical stabilizer specifically manufactured and installed for placement outside the front door of the bar that provided the inspiration for development of the beach bar to be seen in Top Gun: Maverick

It was kind of a toss up in the end wasn't it?

This did look pretty good with HDR via streaming. Quite delayed a bit from broadcast.

Very good show as are some of the commercials. Hey, it's also a great game with some very excellent plays and the score is tied up to the half time!

The video quality of the game was slightly better in terms of sharpness. I really did not see much of a difference with the addition of HDR10. The half time show was the exception where the HDR made a big impact. Where I live near Washington, DC the OTA and HD cable quality of the Fox Super Bowl is quite good.

From what I have read on other sites the 4K HDR reviews of the Super Bowel were a mixed bag where some said it was great and some had opinions similar to mine. I guess it was also influenced comparing the 4K HDR to the local OTA and cable picture quality.

Only had access to Fox Now, had it all set up but never provided a 4K option, just HD. Had it playing in HD but it stuttered and had hitches, like the cable internet had too many users, so I just switched to the cable box, and no delays or poor quality images like the stream.

Sigh. Maybe next year. Can hope something good happens for the Olympics.

The HDR was great throughout. You could definitely see a lot of compression artifacts, though, which is to be expected.

What TV do you have?

I couldn't get it in HDR because the TV I was viewing it on isn't HLG compatible, but I did notice some compression artifacting. It was also in stereo.

However, compared to the Comcast network re-transmission, it looked a lot better.

It just goes to show you how compressed cable and satellite feeds have become (like when the confetti rained down in the stadium, the Comcast image turned into one blocky mess), not that 4k streaming doesn't still need a lot of work.

Some streaming devices did not play well with the 4k upconverted HLG signal even if you happened to have a TV with HLG. Apple TV, for one, didn't get HDR at all due to app compatibility issues.

The Shining Mt Dew with Bryan Cranston was probably my fav. T'was a good game. Happy to see the Chiefs pull it off.

Should have had either the actress from Malcolm or Breaking Bad as his wife in the commercial to keep it as meta as possible.

This was shown in HDR10, supposedly, unlike the regular season where they used HLG.

There were a few exceptions FiOS did use HLG and I assume in Europe HLG was used.
