Found some spare time so I get back to playing with X-Men collection, cause two new movies emerged since last time I did this.

Still working out a font issue since I need to find something close to the title font, so I used the Captain America title font as a substitute till I get that issue fixed.

I would need exactly the same slip cover template with 12,5 mm spine. How could I get it from you a blank template without these logos? Only the size matters. Thanks in advance.

I made a change to Lorraine Gary's photo on the back of my "Jaws 2" custom cover which I think works better. The original version is posted at the top with the updated version below. If anyone who requested these covers from me wants the updated version, send me a PM again with your email address.

Here is a custom cover for VEMON with original american release artwork including Blue ray bar at top to fit Criterion size clear case that the discs come in.

I myself, prefer to design my custom covers to look as they are studio issued. That's why 99.9% of the time I include a barcode and or UV banner or any other relevant information. Perhaps, the original artist expresses the same sentiment. I think his cover looks fantastic!

I personally would never alter someone else's artwork that they invested hours and hours designing and were kind enough to offer to other forum members. Their artistic endeavor should respected and maintained. Just my two cents from a fellow designer.

Could I have been anymore thankful, respectful and polite? Seriously. I start my reply by stating it is a great looking cover and thanked them for making it available. I then suggested an "alternate" version might be nice to offer as well, an "alternate" version. Many artists offer alternative versions that don't include the barcode, UV type banners, banners found at the top of the front portion of a given cover and so forth. Was just making a friendly suggestion if they felt so inclined providing an example in the process. Even ended my reply stating what a great job they did. Go ahead and set me straight though if you must. <Shakes head.>

He's right, though. You don't alter someone else's art. Then get defensive about it.

My comment was not to "attack you" for your suggestion and I don't speak for everyone , only myself. The original artist who is incredibly talented designed a beautiful cover that suited his preferences for what he wanted included. He designed it, he owns it and could have easily kept it to himself. But out of kindness for other forum members he made it available to them.

Personally, when I'm designing a cover the last thing on my mind is "what I think others want the cover to contain." I'm designing it to my liking/preferences. And if fellow members like them, of course I'm always happy to share them.

I recall a time I offered a cover and someone commented he liked it but wanted me to send him the PDF file so he could manipulate my design to his liking. LOL.

I guess as a graphic designer I feel the integrity of someone's design should be maintained and not altered in any capacity. Again, this is just my position.

I appreciate the comments and defense of the work, but I've no problem with AmishParadise tweaking the design as an alternative to suit what he likes. He also paid for that cover in some fashion I'm assuming, as I don't share covers unless it's with another cover designer I'm familiar with (like steev210). What site are you a member of Amish?

Like steev210, I do like my covers to look as legit as possible, but I kind of like the tweaked version. That bar code was pissing me off because I wanted to shift the artwork but couldn't do it without the code blocking too much of the art, and I was far too lazy to redo the nine images that make up the back!

This is pretty much why I'm not offended by him tweaking the cover. The way I look at it, he didn't do anything I didn't do by making the cover. The front is a combination of two posters for the film, one image more altered than the other!

Not to push the sites, but it's well worth the few bucks it takes to sign up to either EuphoricFX.org or HiResCovers.net and look for the super hero collection by xShoty. Fantasic covers. My entire collection of movies based on Marvel characters sport his cover collection.
