Custom Cover Art Thread

That's fine with me, not everyone has to like my stuff...

Just try to avoid the "he's learning" comments, they come off as rude and sound like my work is below par to others' due to my lack of skill!

If you like other's covers better just say that, you don't need to downgrade the ones you don't like as much.

This pains me the most as your covers are by far and wide the BEST out there....with some of BPM's customs not too far behind (he's learning - haha). (no disrespect BPM as I do like several of your customs, just not quite as much as ALL of dv8's).

Maybe I have enough posts to count as a "good guy"...we'll see.

Anyhow, keep up the great work, even if I can't use them

bpm, as a fellow artist I can tell you that your covers are amazing! Wonderful designs. I wish I had your creativity.

BTW have you read up on the recent events on customcovers.org? You should take a visit, b/c the admin. is working on the issue and they may need your help identifying your work. I sent you a pm too.

thanks to aggienader08 quick work at getting a resolution to this, I'm OK with going back to posting and linking downloads here. As you guys have said, its going to happen no matter what, even from membership sites, someone will repost. We just all have to watch out for each other, as for chopping up ones work and claiming it for their own, yes down right wrong. That didn't happen here, and he's apologized. So I'm back to posting normally.

Thanks for the many wonderful comments on my work. But I must say Im a huge fan and follower of aggienader08, bpmford, Irrob, thorthefifth and others on here. You guys keep up the awesome work.

I'll have the fixed Terminator Quadrilogy up tonight after work.

Well said! I am patiently waiting for the correct Gone with the wind (target edition) unless i missed it I believe dv8 needed to edit some of the text in the back. Cant wait to use that cover and toss the other

Yes, thanks to all. Some of you have art that doesn't appeal to my personal tastes, and some post covers for films I don't own, but I still appreciate coming to this thread just to admire the passion that went into them all.

now all those movies i do have aggie hahaha i like it a lot.....it makes me think tho what was apatows roll in forgetting sarah marshall since they used his style of cover and also released it with knocked up and 40 year old virgin in a 3 pack kinda like your design cause he directed these 3 but he had some roll in that....o and just for those who may feel hesitant to post there work for fear of stealing most the people see who posts in the thread if u just show a preview and someone would like it you could just easily email it to them if its someone you trust

He only produced Sarah Marshall. I would put it in the collection, but I wanted to make it the "Director's Collection" ya know.

Yea since the issue is resolved, then I am more than willing to provide covers to people that pm me for now, in the future I may go back to posting in the thread. The problem with imre is that he/she never posted at all, on any thread of the site. I looked him up in the directory and his name is imrehu1. I put 2 and 2 together and decided those names were too similar thus I pmed him about the issue. Surely enough I got a response (on the previous page).

With the recent events that have taken place in the new awakening (not really awakening to others which are accustomed to this treatment) a lot of us have been slapped pretty hard in the face. It hurts to have members of this site and other sites completely abuse their privileges and abuse their rights to downloading the art we wholeheartedly commit to.

Upon receiving an apologetic pm from imre (abuser) I have requested that they come out and fully apologize to all the artists affected by his/her actions. So far, the forum has been silent of imre, so I don't know if he/she will actually do it. I also said that he should make sure the credits he's received for other artists work is redistributed to give credit where it is due.

On the more redemptive note, I will not consider this matter closed until he/she does so, however I am very committed to keeping the integrity of this thread intact. so I will continue to post previews for now and will honor request for the full res. via pm. I'm not sure about other artists, but I think trust needs to be restored to this thread. I love this thread too much to give it up. This is why I write this long post is because I want to encourage everyone in this thread, esp. artists who are members of other sites, to keep your eyes peeled for actions like this that jeopardize the integrity of this fabulous thread. The kind of stuff that takes place on 9covers is hands down unacceptable and the admin. on that site that allow this sort of stuff to happen will eventually run into trouble when they illegally post someones copyrighted material. It breaks my heart that artists have to deal with this and it has sort of become the norm. I don't mean to sound like a cheese ball, but if we watch each others' backs like we've been doing thus far, then I guarantee we will be making it much more difficult for them to do this often in the long run.

aggienader08... I appreciate not only the artistic work you're doing but I have to say that the way you're handling this whole "theft" thing, is rather impressive. As a man with little to no artistic ability, it is great to have a forum such as this to gather covers that make my blu-ray collection not only look better... but a little more organized so again... thanks! I hope the right things are done to allow this thread to thrive the way it has been over recent weeks.

That said... can I please put out a request for a Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy cover? I've seen a couple on other sites and none of them do this series justice. With the amazing talent HERE, I am hoping that someone can provide the end all/be all of Pirates Collection covers. :-D!

Now, are you wanting an efficiency cover for Pirates like a cover for a 6-7 disc case? I've been meaning to create one for a while so if that's the one you want then I'll give it a world. It might be a few days till I have a concrete idea but I'll attempt it.

That's the problem with the internet...all sarcasm gets lost. It really was meant as a compliment. What I meant was: I love dv8's stuff and I like your 'custom covers'. But since you'd done all the blu series and that other series first, THEN did the custom series, you were 'learning'. Does that make sense? It did to me...oh well. Like I said, didn't mean any disrespect, just being funny in my own way, but I should have been more clear in my first post...sorry 'bout that.

I know your blu series and that other series are meant to have a uniform look, and you succeeded greatly (I know many who like them), but I prefer your custom series by far.

Your skill and dv8's are excellent. I look at three different boards everyday just to see if either of you has created anything new (seriously).

I love a lot of your custom stuff and most of what dv8 has done. Sorry it didn't come across quite right the first time.

Of course, I've enjoyed many other people's works too...just most of my covers seem to be from you two. Again, not trying to steer you into what work I think is worthy...just expressing my gratitude for your hard work that I like.

Keep up the great work...I know I really appreciate it.

BTW, I couldn't even begin to do what most of you do, it's like magic to me, so I really do appreciate and marvel at all of your works.
