Going to jail? I doubt it.

This kind of stuff is generally under the radar of the studios. They're more interested in stopping pirated disc copies from being made/sold. Having a few people do revisions of DVD/Blu-ray covers for fun, and maybe earn a little coin, isn't going to set off any alarm bells.

No matter how you coat it, it's illegal if the artist makes money from it.

Love those covers. Not a huge fan of the TPM image (doesn't fit the style as well), but you work with what you're given I guess.

I'd suggest a different Braveheart cover. That image you have is horizontally distorted (he's too thin) and you've got the writing over his face.

That Phantom Menace art is much better. Better, in fact, than the movie is.

I noticed that too and I am working on it as I type this.

Braveheart's front cover has been fixed.

I also don't mind if the actors names are partially obscured on the front cover because I made sure they were included on the back cover as well.

I agree. If you're not that concerned about them then don't include them at all.

I just got done with The Counterfeiters and since the photo I used was so dark I went with a gray color for the actors.

I'm noticing a lot of banding on the spines of these as well, which might be a problem.

Yeah, those are compression artifacts that pop up when the image is compressed on the forum. The full 3173 x 1762 image does not have any of the artifacts.
