1. Take everything off of the back except for the tag line. Make it big and maybe fill up top to bottom. I personally think it could look real nice that way.

2. i think it would be really cool to see a rabbit in red matchbook cover created. Just wrap it around the spine so it looks like it is an open matchbook, maybe just a distressed title on the spine. I know it is not what you are going for, I just thought it would be neat looking based on the current image on the back

so i did up the match book cover for fun, but added a faint MM to the back cover, doesn't look too bad, i must say so myself, but of course you would have to be a Halloween fan to get the whole idea. nice suggestion on the match book idea

Only some letters are. The front cover is designed so that no matter how you're looking at it, some elements are upside down. I thought it fit the disorientating nature of the movie as well as recall the promotional artwork showing the cabin as a shifting cube.

Ah, I've been trying InDesign, but it's just not very clear to me how it works.
But if that will be able to print double-sided, for booklets and custom artwork and such things, I'll have to look into it.

One thing though; Will I be able to import a finished image that I made in Photoshop or even import it as an in-progress PS-file?
Would suck if I'd actually have to make it IN InDesign, and remake the things I have.

Thanks.

Yes, InDesign is part of the Adobe Creative Suite, which is designed to play nicely together. I use it all day, everyday for work, so PM me if you ever have InDesign or Photoshop questions. What's nice is that if you have an InDesign document open that contains a Photoshop file, every time you update or change the Photoshop file, that's automatically updated in your InDesign layout. So no need to ever re-place or "import" anything.

Photoshop is great for manipulating images, but InDesign is where it's at when it comes to layouts.

Great. Sounds like what I need for prints then. Thanks very much.

Below is a list of movies I'm wondering if anyone has made custom covers of? What I'd like to do is have them made into slipcovers. Here are some pics of what I found of the City Slickers and Tombstone artwork I'm thinking works. The question is, can someone make it work for cover art and eventually a slipcover? Both these, Harry Potter and The Venture Bros. Season 4 seem to be the hardest to be able recreate for some reason. Probably because I'm not computer savvy. Which is why I'm bringing it to the experts. LMK if you can assist.

City Slickers
Wal Mart Exclusives 2 movie sets:
HP & the Sorcerers Stone/HP & The Chamber of Secrets
HP & The Prisoner of Azkaban/HP & The Goblet of Fire
HP & The Order of the Phoenix/HP & The Half Blood Prince
Highlander(Case measurement is 7.5 x 5.75 x .86)
Kill Bill Vol. 1
Kill Bill Vol. 2
The Searchers
Sin City
Tombstone
The Venture Bros. Season 4
Wall-E 2 Disc

Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures v2.0
22mm spine. Size for printing is approx. 11 x 5 7/8 inches.
Love the custom you worked up here. Beautiful work. Gave you props over in the Indy thread as well, but my reply got buried pretty quickly as active as that thread has been over the past week. Not sure if you saw my reply there or not, so I thought I'd post here as well. I also really liked the other customs posted in that thread for each of the discs which make up the set. Copy of that post shown below in case others here haven't seen them.

They're available for free at euphoricfx.org.
That being said, after downloading the customs I took the time to get "My Movies for Windows Media Center" updated which is what I use to browse my Blu-ray collection and initiate playback of a given disc per my Sony Blu-ray changers. Thought you and Imrahil2001 might get a kick out of seeing your customs as displayed in the My Movies for Windows Media Center interface when going to browse the title, so I worked up a quick little slideshow. Link action below if you'd like to check it out and thanks again!

Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures (....as seen in My Movies for WMC7) - [13mb]

You're welcome. :-) Glad you liked it! Really love the design scheme you worked up. Not sure if you noticed, but I also included full 1920x1080 screenshots of each slideshow image. Just have to click on a given image. Hope that was ok to do considering your customs in my screenshots are much larger than the ones you posted here on the site.

It's just a regular cover as opposed to a slipcover, but I made one for The Searchers a couple of years back:

I used InDesign every day for my old job so when I bought my CS6 I got the entire Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge and Media Encoder).

Here's a recent commission that the client wanted to share with everyone.
A straight recreation of the vintage Terror in the Aisles VHS cover.

PM me for download.

That is awesome and definitely something I'd consider for a slip. That is the kind of originality I'm looking for on my shelf.

I'd like to see some customs for the extras discs as well. Currently just using the front cover for the boxset per the below. :-( If only I had mad Photoshop skills! :-P

^ I'm using the Aussie covers for each film (i've put in the DVD discs making them 3-Discs per case), but now I have a 3-Disc special features case I just need the cover for (2x Blu, 1xDVD).

That's cool. I only display my cover art in the digital realm. All my discs get put in Sony DVD/Blu-ray changers. Original cases get put in storage never to seen again. So cruel I know. :-)
