Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now on my Marvel imgur site for those with access. I'm sure Nissen can share a preview of it when he has the time.

Spidey will be coming sometime next month and for those that have been wondering the Ghibli collection will be coming sometime this fall/winter and I also plan on having Studio Ponoc done in the same style

Does anyone have a cover for Disney's release of Robin Hood? I was shipped a copy in a DVD case which makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why the hell is there a BD in a DVD case? Anyway, now I need the cover in BD size. Anyone got one?

Default Test Image - Agents Of SHIELD Season 4

Just wanted to introduce myself since I have been in the shadows for awhile and enjoying everyones fantastic work here. Finally decided to dust off my art skills and create a test image using a template I found online on DeviantArt and sample artwork I downloaded.

I figured at some point more completest collectors might be looking for a cover for Season 4 of Agents Of SHIELD and didn't see anyone here tackle it yet.

EDIT: Just got my copy of Spider-Man: Homecoming and it's in one of those Bluray slim cases (oddly annoying for having a thin edge on a shelf among the other MCU titles which use regular cases; Guess I should have opted for the 3D version) so I decided to test out more techniques and see if I can make it stand out more using a standard size case.

Let me know If I'm on the right track. - CQ

Coincidentally I'm also working on a Spider-Man Homecoming project to help with shelf consistency.

I got the Best Buy exclusive Steelbook version of the movie because it is an awesome looking Steelbook, and I really didn't care for the other packaging options of the standard releases and other exclusive editions. Plus I wanted to get the 4K release, and I especially didn't like the spine of the standard release being silver and with the pic of Spider-Man on top. It would really stand out in a bad way amongst the relase of m MCU releases.

However, this is the only MCU movie that I have in Steelbook form. In fact, up until I made this exception, I had been specifically avoiding buying MCU Steelbooks, largely because I didn't do so from the start, and if I had started part way through going forward, my consistency "OCD" would make me want to go back and get them for the previous releases, which would mean spending absurd amounts of money to get them at now-secondary market prices. Also, while I like the Steelbook better than the standard release, while it has the title of the movie on the spine, it's absurdly small and hard to read.

So I decided to start working on a slipcover to fit over the Steelcase release. That way it will better 'blend' with my other MCU movies, all of which have slipcovers.

This is still an early WIP, but it gives an idea of where I'm going with it.

Also, while not movie related, I've been working for the past couple/few weeks on a series of covers for all of the Marvel/Capcom related video games (X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, MvC 2, MvC 3, and the new MvC Infinite). The covers are for DVD sized cases for reasons that I'll go into when I eventually post the images here. As the games span from the mid 90s to present day and were released for various game systems, the covers are not console specific, and are just meant to give a cohesive case style and look to this series of games.

Default Stranger things have happened to Blu-ray cover art.

Season 1 of Stranger Things was released on Blu-ray this past Tuesday. In anticipation of the release I worked up some Blu-ray cover art for it. I needed front and back cover images for use with DVD Profiler and My Movies.

(To see what it's like to browse this title within My Movies for WMC7 see my post here. To view the online version of this title from my DVD Profiler based website click here.)

Of course scanning the retail packaging was an option when going to catalog this. That being said, while I love the retro style VHS packaging I still wanted actual Blu-ray cover art representing this title in the digital realm. As such, I decided to take matters into my own hands and see what I could come up with. Pretty pleased with the end result I must say considering I'm not a graphic artist and have only a very basic skill set when it comes to Photoshop.

Preview images provided below. If you like what you see just click on the given preview image to download the full size (3173x1762) cover art suitable for printing. Quick breakdown for you. There are two sets of covers. (Couldn't decide which ones to post, so I posted them all!) The front portion for each is the same, because that poster is awesome! It should have been used on the retail packaging, but I digress. The back portion varies slightly for each. The first set of covers offer more breathing room on the back portion at the very bottom basically. Not as crowded. The second set of covers is identical to the first, but with additional logos and specs added. Makes it a bit more crowded, but still works I think. In any event, pick your poison and enjoy!

"Stranger Things" Blu-ray Cover Art (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D)

1A (Back portion intended to precisely mirror the retail packaging, barcode and all.)

1B (Overview and larger collage of images only on back portion.)

1C (Overview and collage orientation reversed on back portion.)

1D (Alternate version of 1A with release specifications included.)

"Stranger Things" Blu-ray Cover Art (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D)

2A (Same as 1A with additional logos and specs added at the very bottom.)

2B (Same as 1B with additional logos and specs added at the very bottom.)

2C (Same as 1C with additional logos and specs added at the very bottom.)

2D (Same as 1D with additional logos and specs added at the very bottom.)

I don't think you have enough variations of it, you slacker!

I'm just kidding, of course. Great work! I'll likely print one of these up for my set. While I do like the official packaging astetically speaking, it's not the most 'practical' for storing an accessing the discs, themselves (I really don't like how they overlap each other), so I'll like use this to store the actual discs, but still store/display the official box elsewhere.

Thanks for the props. It's as basic as you can get, but still took a lot of work and yeah, I got a little carried away with all the variations. I was messing around with the arrangement for the back portion in Photoshop quite a bit. I stay very organized with how I name and group my layers.
Thought I'd post a couple different versions of the cover, but couldn't make up my mind which ones, so I posted them all. Hopefully people's Internet browsers aren't hating on me too much when all those large preview images have to load. And yeah, I like the official packaging as well. Actually, that's not a strong enough word. Would have to say it's my favorite non-standard DVD or Blu-ray type packaging to date. Love it! For the digital realm though I needed some traditional Blu-ray cover art and didn't find anything online to speak of so decided to give it a go.

I actually agree quite a bit.

Most of the time I hate oversized/non-standard packaging. Steelbooks are fine because they are the same height as regular cases and can fit on the shelf next to them just fine. They are close enough to "standard" that they are otherwise a non-issue in that regard.

I'm generally not a fan of digibooks because they tend to be taller than regular cases. If I recall correctly, I only have 3 digibooks in my entire Blu-Ray collection. Two of those (The Big Lebowski and Little Shop of Horrors) I got on their initial Blu-Ray releases, and digibook was the only packaging option available at the time. The only one that I got because I actually liked the look of the packaging (despite the height issue) was an exclusive version of E.T. from a few years ago.

Save for Steelbooks from time to time, I generally don't like anything that doesn't come in a standard case or something very similar.

But I love the Stranger Things box! Like I said, it's not the most convenient or efficient way of storing the discs, but aside from that, the whole retro VHS video rental store vibe is perfect for this release! While it breaks all of my general preference "rules," the sheer awesomeness offsets that and then some.

I just have to ask. Someone in the Stranger Things thread mentioned this. I actually read their post as I was experiencing what they were describing. Crazy. Have you found yourself continuously opening and closing the magnetic flap? I keep catching myself doing this and for some reason find it so satisfying! I even pretended to press in the notches on the sides a couple times before opening the flap. I think I need help. Very cool packaging and for those that haven't seen the packaging first hand, the pictures online don't do it justice at all. It's far more impressive in person.
