Pre-release Fox version cover. Combined the DVD and Bluray to get best possible quality. Will do a second when a better cover scan comes out and back cover is revealed

I think that they look great. I like the different colored spines, it helps to break it up, while the red Marvel ties it together. red/gold spine for Iron Man, perfect. green spine for Hulk, perfect. On the Hulk cover, I would reduce the amount of white @ the of the upc box. Just my thoughts.

Why not just remove the UPC?

Yeah, I’m not sure how they got away with it but Frightmare (1983) recycled the poster that From Beyond the Grave (1974) used. There must be rights issues involved as 88 Films didn’t actually end up using that cover for their release of Frightmare.

People didn't seem to like the packaging of the new Godzilla Criterion set, so I'm starting a project to make each film a standalone cover using the vibrant pop art accompanying the set. As a proof-of-concept, here's the WIP 14th film in the series, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974).

Incredible! Unfortunately there will be multiple movies per discs, so having one case for each movies won't work. It would need to be a case for each discs, so there would need to be multiple artwork for each cases.

That's not really how I'm envisioning this set. I'm making one for each film. I don't mind an empty case on the shelf; the set together will look really sharp.

I will, however, also be making one that will encompass the entire set (though I don't think criterion makes 8-disc cases).

You're right. All 15 films on 8 discs.

Yeah, this is a nightmare for custom artwork, no matter how you look at it. Criterion really blew it here. Hopefully someone comes up with a solution that doesn't require empty cases. If someone does, I might actually end up buying the set. Still, you'd think Criterion would have done something to make us avoid this...

The plan is for these to fit in the Scanavo 4-disc clear case. Buy two, house all 8 discs in something that'll fit the shelf a bit better than Criterion's over-sized book.

THIS IS A MOCK-UP, WIP.

PM me when the set releases for updated files with correct dimensions, and final barcode, catalog and ISBN numbers.

I'm hoping to post an update to this design by the end of the week.

The irony is that I know the guy who was commissioned to do this artwork. He is very proud of his work and announced it to much fanfare on Facebook yesterday.
