Thanks Much and I agree, it's just classic. EDIT: I also revamped the back cover quite a bit and updated original post. Busy? Humm, going to experiment a little and blacken out the steps in the upper right corner.

Default Harry Potter

Hey,

Does anyone have a collection of Harry Potter 4K Sleeves/inserts that they could share? I got the whole collection for my birthday but it is the Italian version and I would like the English Sleeves.

Many Thanks

Here's another update on the "Reservation Road" cover art I'm working on. Today my focus is on the front portion for the alternate version. The source image I'm using had to be increased in size significantly and contorted quite a bit to make it work. My plan is to rebuild the artwork using multiple source images, one of which will be a scan of the Mill Creek release.

Hopefully I'm able to improve upon what I have now. If not, I wanted to at least make it so one could tell there was a car in the center of the road behind those blinding lights. The artwork I'm using is among the worse examples I found in this regard. The Mill Creek release shown below does a great job at this however.

My copy of the Mill Creek release is being delivered today. Looking forward to scanning the cover art and utilizing what portion of the artwork I can. That being said, as a test I attempted to incorporate the car from above image. The end result is quite an improvement I must say. Before and after pics shown below.

Hey does anyone have a template for tv show wrap around jackets, the cardboard style cases that go around tv show?

I'm looking for one that'll hold two 8-disc cases or four normal sized cases.

The only examples I've seen are the That 70s show Flashback Edition, and the Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra combo pack.

So if anyone has a template of that, It would be much appreciated!

Default Return to Paradise (1998)

I received my copy of Mill Creek's "Reservation Road/Return to Paradise" Blu-ray today. During the progress of cataloging the release in DVD Profiler I decided I might as well create some dedicated cover art for "Return to Paradise" as well. I started on the spine and front portion.

(Click on the image above to view a larger preview image.)

The above is work in progress. There's still a few items I need to address before moving on to the back portion. The source image I'm working from was a real mess behind the title treatment and along the outline of Vince Vaughn. I addressed those areas of the image quite nicely I think. See below.

(For a better look at the improvements made view the larger version of each image below tabbing back and forth between them.)

There's still a few areas in and around the title treatment that look a little too pasty for my liking. There's a few other tweaks I want make as well. I'll be addressing those things tomorrow time permitting, then it's on to the back portion. I should also have the "Reservation Road" cover art completed tomorrow. If not tomorrow, by the end of the weekend.

You can but you have to earn points/coins, something to download, so basically you can't download it for free even if you register.

I registered a while back and saved the password to my password manager, but today when I try to login it says invalid password...so I don't know.

Goes without saying, but check your junk or spam folder. I'm registered, but don't have any credits at the moment so.

Having no artistic ability I have little to contribute to this thread, but I just wanted to post my deep appreciation for what the regular posters here are doing. Several posters here have been kind enough to share their work with me and I am getting a lot of satisfaction from it. Keep up the good work!

This is my favourite rendition of the text. Why did you tone down the colours? I think this really makes it pop and reflects the front colour scheme well.

Of course, much respect for everything you have done.

Lowering the opacity allowed the font color to bleed through. This eliminated the steep drop in brightness as you moved out from the center to each end which I thought was too much. Lowering the opacity also resulted in the text standing out better as it was brighter. The text also tied in better with the other colored text at that point and no longer overpowered the other elements of the back portion.

Here you go. Before and after pics provided below. View the larger version of each image tabbing back and forth between them. I think you'll see where I'm coming from. That being said, when adding the clipping mask part of me did want to leave the opacity set higher precisely due to the points you made. Setting the opacity to 65% was the middle ground I decided on at the time. Perhaps there's room to bump that up a little bit. It's worth taking a look at.

Okay, I took a look at this again and found a new middle ground. This works well I think. I bumped the opacity up to 85%. See below. Thanks for chiming in, GreatGreg.

I scanned the cover art for Mill Creek's "Reservation Road/Return to Paradise" Blu-ray yesterday in the hopes I could use portions of the scan with my cover art. Unfortunately it was a bust as Mill Creek prints their cover art on the cheap, the quality of the resulting scan not being serviceable.

That being said, they used the same artwork for the Blu-ray menus so I have been able to put that to good use already. Well, after I removed the title treatment and fixed menu elements which were part of each menu background. End result shown below.

Removing the fixed menu elements and lower portion of the title treatment from the "Reservation Road" menu background was a total PITA. I really need to give Adobe's new AI-powered Remove Tool a try. It would save me so much time I'd imagine. Would love to hear from anyone that's used the Remove Tool. It looks impressive from the videos I've seen online anyway.

Great work as always, AP. I do struggle with a lot of the same artistic decisions myself.

I haven't ventured into cover design, but quite the opposite as I learned to author DVDs and Blu-rays over the pandemic. I started creating professional looking title menus and chapter menus (and subtitles!) for releases that would never be released otherwise.

It would be a good compliment to the cover artists here when I need a new cover for my new DVD or Blu-ray. :-)

Keep up the great work!
