Curious if any of the resident cover artists are working on custom Nightmare on Elm Street 4K covers that will feature original key art and one specific request for The Dream Child to feature the baby in the womb vs the cradle that is mostly used. Thank you!

The wife did a retro cover for it using that artwork a couple of years ago, made for a 26mm BD case to look like an old VHS copy.

Not trying to be snarky but if you're going to make custom covers that are so identical to the retail art, why not at least change the credits, logo and text placement so that they match throughout?

Because my goal was to individualize each cover with their own look that I personally felt matched the style of the respective film. Also I wouldn’t say that these match the retail art at all when it comes to the UHD format as those editions use art that are way too sterilized for me, they really lack any personality. I don’t have anything against matching artwork for franchises, I’ve made quite a bit of it myself, but it can get boring to just make everything match all the time and I wanted to try something new.

My main inspiration was actually recalling how much I liked the back cover of the DVD for The Dark Knight when I was much younger, so I started there and took inspiration from a couple different places for Begins and Rises.

Fair enough. I have to admit that I couldn't download the complete covers, so I don't know what the backs look like. But the billing of RISES being at the top instead of above the title really jumped out at me.

Totally understandable! I typically prefer the original one sheet for the front art, unless there are better options or if I want to just make something completely original. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, they decided to put the billing at the top on the one sheet, unlike how they did for the previous two films. Could I have changed this for my own work, yes, but I wanted to stay true to the design of the one sheet.
