Nice cover! I like the layout with all the characters around the front edge.

Next time, just congratulate him on a quality cover creation in spite of what he may consider meager photoshop skills.

Your incendiary generalized commentary about who has (or does not have) the talent to create a custom cover has no place within this thread. Learning and skill set acquisition is a process, prodigies are few and far between in this world.

i'm just saying that at a certain age, if you don't already know what looks good, you're probably not going to figure it out, it's not as easy to 'learn', while photoshop skills are very learnable.

i didn't say i was, and you all know exactly what i mean, but nobody else wants to say it and then everyone wants to jump on me for being 'mean'

Hey Guys! The Toy Story Trilogy is going to be released here in Brazil this wednesday, and from the picture, it looks like we'll be getting all 4 discs in one single case. If you guys want it, I can scan the cover and post it here when my copy arrives! =)

Here's our artwork:

I appreciate everyone's comments--both pro and con--and my feelings are not hurt. Now to answer questions:

As for the font cover, it is a poster for TS3 I found online, with all the character heads as you see them--with the exception of Mr. & Mrs. Potatohead. So I scooted Woody right and Slinky and Alien to edges to make room for them.

As for "3 pack" vs. "Trilogy"-- I went back and forth on it, but decided I wasn't up for trying to figure out what font, etc. to make the "Trilogy" line work. I just used the red "Story" background again flipped and matched "Story" font to recreate "Story" to match my new "Pack".

I have to think simply, as I am using ancient Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0. Everything I can do with it I've stumbled through to figure out, and later Photoshop programs just overwhelm me with options, most of which I don't understand...

Back of cover is a desktop background that Google found for me--just resized, etc. to make wood floor and blue & star wallpaper fit the cover. Stills on right side are again whatever caught my eye when I Googled for TS stills. I agree that the TS2 image is dark and not terribly eye-catching, but wanted something with the girl and horse represented.

The feature listings on left was my feeble attempt to emulate the back covers of Disney blu-ray covers, with the half-disc graphic beside the features list.

So, again I appreciate those who tried to defend my work, as well as those who "told it like it is". No harm, no foul. I'll just share what I whip up for you to use... or not...

Really love that Tron cover Trekkie. Hopefully Disney will go with art like that for the Blu Ray release whenever that may be.

Here's our artwork:

That's pretty impressive, but maybe you could have Woody and Buzz on Toy Story 1, Bullseye and Jessie on Toy Story 2, and Lotso, Ken and Barbie on Toy Story 3.

I'm not the one who did it, it's the official trilogy artwork here in Brazil! =)

You're better off getting your own printer and doing it yourself. Even with a cheap printer you can make some beautiful custom covers but the settings required will blow through your ink.

Unless you know how to use one of the self serve printers, Kinko's employees won't print anything that may be a copyright violation. If you know employees there or you get one who just doesn't care you may get lucky.

What? I said it was good, regardless of his lack of photoshop abilities, it has nice placement and is organised.

Everybody just assumes the worst when it's not 100% pure positive remarks.

anyway, scott pilgrim i'm working on

once again, adapted from a mondo poster
