I will play with that some today.

I've always thought the cover that came with the original Halloween Blu was lame and amateurish, so I made one that felt more professional.

Very cool. I always thought the 70's and 80's slasher covers would be cool ones to redo. Look good!

I saw one like that on another thread in a forum on this site. I think it was an Indian cover, but not sure.

Default The Social Network

Ok, so the Inter-site Cover Battle Royal Competition is over... Sadly I didn't win (in fact last was my spot), but BPM took 3rd! Congrats to him! Im not sad about coming in last, while it does sting a little, it was an amazing ride, amazing competition, and some of the best of the best I was going up against. So it was an honor to compete with all of them! And I would do it again if Im invited next year. Those that won, was well earned hands down.

So with that said - here is my cover. I chose The Social Network, and after working on my first choice, Three Kings I pulled out my old concept for TSN two days before the deadline and went for it. Its 2 concepts - Front is a rebuild of Mark Zuckerberg from Time Magazines "Person of the Year" with Jesse Eisenberg instead. I've included the original magazine for comparison. And the back is a reproduction (all built by scratch) of Mark Zuckerber's facebook page, with the first comment as the movie description and the second comment being the special features. I updated the front with the true Time logo today and I have changed the credits since the contest simply because I couldn't include my name before now. This cover was so out of my normal style and a design concept I had never tried before, and the quality and hi-resolution of everything was so important with this concept. But in the end whats life without risks right?

Since this was a cover for a contest, I've also included a direct link to download and share for a short time for those that do want it. The 3D mock-up doesn't do the cover justice. This cover wont appeal to everyone, but its a totally different option from the original cover and its very sharp when printed out.

I hope the other designers in the competition show their work too, you all will be most impressed!

That is a fantastic cover dv8! You did a great job my friend. I'm not sure what I placed, but quite frankly I'm not sure I want to know. It was a fantastic comp with a lot of talent. Be proud of what you designed because it looks great!

Edit: I can't believe I looked at the score card. With scoring, and without the 10 bonus for doing Three Kings I finished dead last. Pretty pitiful. I'm afraid I tried to be a little too creative because in the end my creativity was the end of me. LOL!

Has anybody made a set of covers for each of the disc fromThe Rocky: Undisputed Collection? I would really like to have covers for each film in the set instead of housing them all in the 1 case.

Well at least you got the bonus points and let me come in dead last! lol Some of the judges were pretty harsh on their comments, some saying my back was too common and seen before, which was too bad for me because I don't look at all the sites to see whats already out there. Others made valid points on elements that I have already changed on my cover. So all in all finishing last gave me some great learning points.

I am looking for a cover for the POTC trilogy. I need one that will fit on a 6 or 7 disc case. I was hoping to find one similar to the box that the new best buy exclusive set comes in.

Sorry about that dv8! Lol! Funny thing is that after reading the comments and looking at my cover, some of the judges were right. It just didn't work. I don't even think I deserved the bonus points.

You're right though, some of the judges were a bit harsh with their critiques. I'm not sure they knew their comments were going to be distributed to the artists! lol!

One said,"The sand throughout looks like gold in some places." - well, it's supposed to be sand and pure gold beneath the sand.

"Could have found higher res resources", "Resources look like cut-outs" - I'd like to see someone try and find a life size High Res of an Ak-47!

"Now this is where thinking outside the box gets you nowhere..." - Heh heh heh heh!
