I have an update for you guys; this design was unfortunately removed from its earlier website for not meeting their size regulations (my designs are based on personal measurements). However, I have uploaded them onto ImageBam. The gallery contains 10 covers, with two variants, each sized for 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, and 22mm cases, respectively. The first style is as pictured; the second has small posters on the back as well. You can find the gallery right here; just be sure to check the Address section of the Properties tab on each hi-res image, to make sure you have the right one for your case size. Enjoy!

yup,i know, hence why i said 'generic' or if i didnt, i ment to!

since i can't find an 8-disc case, i plan to keep 1-6 in one case, and 7 pt 1&2 in its own case.

If that's the case, then what are you planning to do with the second disc for Half-Blood Prince?

Hey,
Does anyone have custom cover art for the individual Alien titles? Looking for Alien and Aliens. Or a high-res scan of the official artwork. Here in Canada this bilingual packaging will not stand, man.

Thanks.

If you're an active custom cover artist, he's got all of his stuff at euphoricfx.org. Its a free site, just be active on the site and not repost custom stuff anywhere and you're good. That's where I downloaded them from.

Edit: and if you're not a custom cover artist, being active doesn't necessarily mean making covers. Just comment on others in the WIP thread, or upload resources that you find. I'm still pretty bad in PhotoShop so I haven't made anything worth uploading, but I love that site. Everyone there is really helpful too with suggestions, and their nice to PS noobs too with some really good advice!

I prefer the green one with the egg on the spine. Now I need to get the Alien Anthology set and a 22mm blu-ray case.

I thought I'd share a few pics of BartlettPhoto's "Some Like It Hot" cover in use. They're not great quality pics but I mostly just wanted to show my appreciation for making the HiRes file public. Thanks for that, BartlettPhoto. It really is a beautiful cover and infinitely better than the travesty that the studio released.

[edit]
I added some more because you said you were going for studio mock to fool people so I had some more comments.

1) The spine and back have same image. Don't know if that was on purpose or not. I would suggest using a different back image as that image seems to fit the spine 'setting' really well.

(for the remaining comments I am using the back of "A Bug's Life" and "Monster's Inc" for reference to non-new PIXAR release)

2) The PIXAR logo/text at the bottom of the back doesn't look correct. The spacing is off and the font seems incorrect and yours doesn't say "Animation Studios" just under PIXAR in much smaller font.

3) Sound codec choice seems to be DTS-HD MA for recent non-new PIXAR releases. So that should be updated and logo added.

4) It will most likely be region ABC with logo that is three hexagons.

5) NTSC logo? From what I can tell, the Blu-ray+DVD packs have it on them.

6) The specifications on Monsters is split to "Feature", "Bonus" and "1-Disc DVD".

7) Disney also seems to have a "This Movie Printed On Recycled Paper" logo on their recent releases.

8) All the logos seem to be separated into DVD group and Blu-ray group (left / right respectively with no-copy logo as a splitter).

I used both since I liked that image and disney does use both sometimes (i.e. UP)

The PIXAR logo is official - might be the 3D case thats making it look different. But I will add the Animation Studios" under it.

3) Sound codec choice seems to be DTS-HD MA for recent non-new PIXAR releases. So that should be updated and logo added.
Nice catch

4) It will most likely be region ABC with logo that is three hexagons.
All my Disney Blu's are only region A

5) NTSC logo? From what I can tell, the Blu-ray+DVD packs have it on them.
Will add this too!

6) The specifications on Monsters is split to "Feature", "Bonus" and "1-Disc DVD".
The features section is copied from "UP" - which doesnt use Feature, Bonus etc

7) Disney also seems to have a "This Movie Printed On Recycled Paper" logo on their recent releases.
Will Add this too!

8) All the logos seem to be separated into DVD group and Blu-ray group (left / right respectively with no-copy logo as a splitter).
Will fix this too!
Thanks for catching all this, guess making a cover in 2 hours can be a little sloppy and miss things. Thats why I have all your eyes here!

1) For region, I believe it will be ABC. Cars, Monsters, Toy Story 1&2 (not 3), and A Bugs Life are ABC. Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Ratatouille and Up have all been just A. I don't own The Incredibles yet to check the back of the box.

2) I have Up (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy) which does in fact split it to Feature, Bonus and 1-Disc DVD. Under 1-Disc DVD it says in smaller print "(may only apply to feature film)" in all caps. The PIXAR movies I have that don't have DVD with them don't include the 1-Disc DVD section.

3) My version of Up has Dug on the spine and back in 'Dug's Special Mission' but it is two different pictures of Dug. The main pic on the back is not reused. Don't know which edition of Up you are using as reference.

4) You may or may not want to add the DisneyFile Digital Copy image-thing that is below the statement "Watch Your Blu-ray or DVD... On the Go!"

5) For the PIXAR logo is it just a font that you type in? If so maybe it is the angle view that makes it seem less spaced out than the PIXAR logo on the backs I am looking at. Or maybe there is a space in between the letters.

6) The part next to the UPC looks exactly like that on the UP cover, you may wish to modify its background color to be more in tune with the back cover. The color of the box seems to be a shade or so off from the color that touches the bottom of the box just below the Disney Movie Rewards star.

7) You don't have a Blu-ray Disc logo on the back. All the PIXAR have it.

8) Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment image/logo in the bottom right corner of the back is also missing.

Okay I think I am going to stop now, because I am leaning towards OCD and don't want to piss you off. If you want me to break it down more then by all means tell me so.

Don't know why I am offering so much critique information for this cover, I normally just stop at "great cover"... maybe it was you wanting to make a realistic studio cover that lead me to nitpick the little things that aren't always in customs because sometimes they seem like clutter but will not be missing from a real release most likely for legal reasons or something like that. All that combined with me wishing to procrastinate from studying for my AI exam tomorrow.

As I said before I used Monsters 4-Disc to make most of my comments because I figured it is a 4-Disc Catalog PIXAR and Finding Nemo will most likely be the same. I did reference A Bugs Life as well but I only have the Blu-ray + Digital Copy version of that and since you said you used Up I pulled that off the shelf and referenced that a tad.

[EDIT]
Just figured out The Incredibles is the only PIXAR title I don't own that is out on blu and Finding Nemo is the only one left not released yet on blu. I will pick up both when the price is right but that thought makes me said because I always look forward to getting PIXAR movies and they only release one (or so) a year so once all the old titles are on blu it will be many days between PIXAR purchases.

Ok, so I've taken everyone's pointers and advice and decided to re-start from the beginning and follow the design of The Incredibles and Tangled Disney Style. Using the new half wall front style (Cars and Incredibles) and the new spec back, which I had to completely build from scratch (that was a major project itself). Next I'll work on the bottom logos, credits and legals. My quick project has turned into a real test of my talents as Im building everything from the ground up - no templates! And please don't stop the pointers - they really help!
