Put me down for a download of that cover!

Lovely. So colourful and playful, and that tagline has had me in stitches for hours now. Genius!

You've gotten really adept at reworking the elements of original posters to make them fit on a cover. It's seamless.
A bit of a cheat, I know, but I think Ollie Reed would look better integrated if he was flipped horizontally, so that he looks into the poster. It would put the gun in his left hand, though... Maybe not?
How about moving him to the right side, behind the mountain or the cableway? Or down in the right side corner where he was in the original poster?

It's just one of those things that don't look right to me, when a character is facing the outside of a poster. I tend to avoid that, even with the stills on the back of my covers.

The BD logo on the spine doesn't sit well with the purple. How about yellow to match the TT?

Where did you get the synopsis for the back? I copied mine from the UK DVD.

I got my synoposis from Amazon.com's "From the back cover" listing. It just seemed to work so well that I didn't even have to do any editing.

I've been thinking about reworking the Oliver Reed character. I originally had Oliver Reed down in the bottom right of the cover but it was pointed out on this forum that it just didn't work. I'll try to get to that tomorrow.

I learned all about fitting poster elements onto a cover doing my James Bond covers It's something I really enjoy doing.

Hi there.
I wanted to make my universal collection more clean and neat. So i thought having all my movies with that Universal bottom banner (like the one in Serenity and in most early releases) on the label and front cover. But now, most releases, don´t come with that. Can someone have the patiente and kindness to do that in some movies that i need? Or provide me with a template with that so i can try myself?

Thank you so much

To make room for the "Walt Disney Pictures presents" logo I was forced to move the TT down over Condorman's wings.

Thoughts, comments appreciated.

I see you flipped Ollie Reed and made the BD logo yellow. Me like!

The only thing I'd like to mention is that the TT is too close to the edge. I think that, optically, the centre of the TT is at the zenith of the arch, so that should your point of alignment for the Disney logo. Just move the TT a little more to the left and I think it will settle in nicely. (The tagline will of course have to follow). BTW, your "WDP presents" logo looks way better than mine, quite official.

I noticed you previously masked out the parts of the TT that overlapped the wing, but I don't think it hurts that it obscures the poster on your most recent version. The spikes on the domes overlapping the screenshots is just the sort of attention to detail that many overlook. Custom Cover Designers - We Sweat the Details!

Is that a comic-book like font you're going for on the synopsis? If so, may I suggest a font called "comic book commando"? It's the one I used for my Condorman cover and it looks neater than the one you're using now.

That's a keeper, Darren.
I still want to do a final polish on mine before I send them over.

Now, how do we go about spreading these around? Anyone here members of the D23 or other Disney sites?

Those CONDORMAN covers are excellent! Now all we need are some UNIDENTIFIED FLYING ODDBALL covers!

The movie was filmed in Alnwick Castle in Northumberland - not that far from where I grew up.

In the UK this sci-fi spin on the classic Mark Twain story was released under the title "A Spaceman in King Arthur's Court"

Even though i probably won't ever have the means to actually make an actual digibook to put the discs in, i gave a go at creating a HP digibook in the same style as the German premium collection digibooks. I've also experimented with doing some book-styled digibooks for the movies, but don't have anything too concrete to show yet atm.

My apologies for the watermarks i always put on my work, but i've had my work stolen before.

I don't suppose anyone has done a custom cover for Stargate Universe Season 2? as I have just finished burning my HDTV recording to AVCHD's and have a 6 disc case to put them in but have no talent when it comes to designing anything.

Im not sad about coming in last, while it does sting a little, it was an amazing ride, amazing competition, and some of the best of the best I was going up against. So it was an honor to compete with all of them! And I would do it again if Im invited next year. Those that won, was well earned hands down.

So with that said - here is my cover. I chose The Social Network, and after working on my first choice, Three Kings I pulled out my old concept for TSN two days before the deadline and went for it. Its 2 concepts - Front is a rebuild of Mark Zuckerberg from Time Magazines "Person of the Year" with Jesse Eisenberg instead. I've included the original magazine for comparison. And the back is a reproduction (all built by scratch) of Mark Zuckerber's facebook page, with the first comment as the movie description and the second comment being the special features. I updated the front with the true Time logo today and I have changed the credits since the contest simply because I couldn't include my name before now. This cover was so out of my normal style and a design concept I had never tried before, and the quality and hi-resolution of everything was so important with this concept. But in the end whats life without risks right?

Since this was a cover for a contest, I've also included a direct link to download and share for a short time for those that do want it. The 3D mock-up doesn't do the cover justice. This cover wont appeal to everyone, but its a totally different option from the original cover and its very sharp when printed out.

I hope the other designers in the competition show their work too, you all will be most impressed!
I love the back of this

I modified my Mr.Nobody cover

I'm bummed it wasn't Criterion size but it looks pretty cool in this black case.
Anyone knows the correct dimensions for a Criterion Case.
