I think this one is too messy. Too much stuff overlapping, and jarring colours that might otherwise work if it wasn't too busy.

Could you please share the HQ files of the other 2 "Drive" customs you made?

Great design. Here are some thoughts:

-I'm not a fan of the "Dustin Collection" theme
-Could use a Blu-ray logo on spine and maybe cover
-You've written "Bluray" instead of "Blu-ray"
-Any reason you went with the shortened "Evil Dead" instead of "The Evil Dead"?
-The green is too bright
-Maybe the spine could be green instead of grey
-Don't like how the spine art overlaps onto the cover, or how it pushes the back text to the left side

Alternative version

I tried clearing most of the clutter. I toned down the green, now it matches the limited edition blu ray version. I know people probably wont like the dustin collection but thats more so for my wife and I.

I think it is much improved, Sir. It wasn't as much clutter, as just toning down the green somewhat.

But....
May I just focus your attention on the placement of elements in relation to the edges of your cover.

Much of the "clutter" can be wrangled in check if you adhere to a common margin for all the elements. I'm using the edges of your specs-box as a starting-off point, and I've taken the liberty of illustrating with some guidelines (added in Photoshop).

If you keep all text, logos and taglines aligned to those guidelines, it will tighten up the whole back considerably.
The synopsis is too close to the border, and I always advocate a little breathing room around text. If it can be perhaps block-aligned as well, I think it would help immeasurably. (And to my eye, perhaps you should tighten up the spacing between lines as well).
Likewise with the bottom logos. Nudge them up until they share a common baseline with your "Dustin Collection" box.

Also, on the front, the placement of "The Dustin Collection" from your template, clashes with the border underneath. Maybe you should just make the green rectangle opaque?

As always, you are free to ignore any and all advice.

Great cover art BTW.
I love the poster, but the movie itself is not very good. I re-watched it again when I sat down to do the cover and its astounding just how bad the talented cast are - including Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland, Richard Widmark, Vanessa Redgrave and Lloyd Bridges - it really is no surprise that it has never surfaced on DVD.

It's aso not the most exciting Alistair (Where Eagles Dare) MacLean novel ever filmed (most of the action in the actual novel takes place on the ship rather than on the island as it does in the movie)

Still, great poster art.

No I appreciate all the input. This is only like my second attempt at making covers so I always welcome criticism and advice. I agree with what you are saying and I also agree that the softer green looks alot better(thanks to those who pointed it out) Sometimes you need another eye to point out the little things you may over look. Thanks for the support and advice, hopefully someday (once I learn photoshop) I can be half as good as all the talents on this thread!

I much prefer the colours on this original, garish just like the splatter within the film!
Also dig the high class Criterion style labelling, thanks for your time and effort!

Hey guys -

New user, long time admirer of the work done here.

I have searched hi & low, but I cannot find this BR case display template that everyone here uses ANYWHERE. The closest I got was a couple of forums that require registration, then after it's done, they say that I need credits or whatever.

If someone could please tell me where I can find this kind of BR mock-up PSD, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Can anyone make a King of New York cover, using the original poster art?

Been working on this one for a request - haven't seen the movie so most of it is based off of research on the web. Very little for this movie even on its website. I will update it and make changes when I get it on Tuesday. But for now, this is what I have so far... I included a flat preview too since the cover maker distorts the grid and details. Not sure if I will keep the time bar on the front cover behind the characters. ??
