I guess you could have the front partially showing FYEO (obscured by a photo or something similar) and have the movies title in the band that wraps the folder up.

Sources for the poster are somewhat limited, but I managed to upscale it with few artifacts. I've mentioned it before, but artwork is very forgiving when upscaled.

I'm most proud of finding screenshots for the back that matched the colour scheme of the poster. I sweat the details!

This was begun as a commission where the client didn't follow through. That certain gentleman may not PM me about this, but everyone else feel free.
That's perfect! That should have been the official case!

================================

DrrnHarr: Fantastic! I'm very glad you used my little ideas! Looks very official! If you have trouble with the MI6/SIS Logo, maybe you could use it as a stamp, on a free spot on the sheet (inclined ramdomly). Can't wait to see the whole series!

Don't feel bad Nissen, I actually had a Cobra poster back in the day. Loving the Flash Gordon Imrahil. Loving your contribution as always, but both you and Niss are making me feel old

So people don't get upset I am using spoiler tags.
I like the first as everything pops out on the all black background and it seems nicely uniform. The file folder just seems out of place. But that's just my preference.

I found the cover from an old cover to a magazine that came out around the time of the film; I loved the saturated colors and the overall "feel" of it (Ming looking down on high, fist clenched in fury). I had done a cover a few years ago with it, but the back was terrible, so I wanted to update it.

I also wanted to use David Occhino's Aeronaut font, which I ponied up for (that's the third of his fonts I've bought now--they're awesome!), and I may use it again for a Rocketeer cover if I can be sufficiently inspired (Nissen's cover is already pretty much perfect, so I probably won't ever bother doing my own).

For the back I pretty much just mimicked the stars/oval design of the front; instead of clouds I put in the hawkmen. The central frame is based largely on the frame of a teaser poster which Drrnharr uploaded, so thanks to him for that.

I was really happy with the way the pictures turned out on either side, symmetry-wise, and originally had the planet and lightning bolts across the back there, but decided that symmetry was more important to the deco design of the back, so I used the bolts elsewhere and removed them from the planet symbol.

[Show spoiler]

As with all my covers, it's available (free!) over at Euphoricfx.org.

Now I've got to get to work on a commission!
Great Flash Gordon cover. Makes me wanna buy it.
Not sure my Mum's ever got over having to take me to see it
Have you seen Ted yet? Flash Gordon features a lot in it......even the guy himself shows up.

Now that's pretty original Drrn. I like it and it is very cleverly placed. So for those with Flash Gordon, how does it look? Seeing those customs definitely makes me want to pick this up and get someone to make me a custom slip. I remember I was either in the 8th or 9th grade when this came out. My buddy and I had to go to the base and watch it. I lived in Japan at the time. We should have went and watched it at the theater. I'd love to have one of their programs of this movie.

The Blu-ray? Looks okay. It's been DNRd quite a bit, but it kind of works for this movie with its bright colors and comic book style.

DrrnHarr, for these Bond covers, it might help to lose the white streaks on the back since it no longer has the gun barrel effect.

You can.

This movie has so much nostalgia for me that I have collected almost anything related to it that I can get my hands on. I have quite a collection now.

Even though I am using the custom that I created for the movie I still uploaded Imrahil's custom because I must have everything and anything I can find.

For those keeping track:

I'm not fully satisfied with the "Never Say Never Again" back cover...

Default Pink FLoyd The Wall Immersion set . CUstom art wanted :)

I have the Pink FLoyd The Wall IMmersion set.

I realize it did not come with the blu ray audio disc that EVERYONE really wanted.
That being said, I still have all my discs placed in a 6 disc blu ray case for safe storage like I have my discs from the other 2 IMMERSION sets.

A member from this site emailed me custom art for the WIsh you Were Here, and Dark Side immersion sets to use with the Thick BLu ray plastic cases.

I really would like some custom art for The WALL to use with a Thick BLu ray plastic case as well.
Can anyone assist me, pleeeeeease

DrrnHarr, I really like the look of these manila folder backs. Do you plan to eventually have them as an alternate for all your Bond covers?

Darren, I'd love to see a picture of that collection sometimes.

I too think the "file case" covers are progressing nicely. All the images and elements you have on the back make the design come off as a little busy and cramped, though, and I think you should try to shrink things down a little so they don't sit so close. The file folder intersects the image borders and that confuses the eye into thinking it is a part of that border, you see? And perhaps slant the manila folder a bit so everything doesn't look so boxy on the back?

Otherwise, keep Bonding!

Default The Phantom (1996) Custom Blu-ray Cover by Nissen

Here's another one that I had started last year but never finished. I'm doing some spring (fall) cleaning in my WIP folder :-)

The Phantom (1996)

That's three for three from the 90's pulp hero films, as I've already done The Shadow and The Rocketeer. Did I miss any?

Available by PM or at CustoManiacs.

No...that's not an undertaking I want to take on right now...

I'm using these backs to just experiment with things. If anyone wants a "complete set" of the 007 covers I would suggest downloading the original TT collection off customaniacs.

Thank you for your suggestions Nissen

Love it. This movie always reminded me of what would happen if a superhero movie meet Indiana Jones movie.

Like The Shadow and The Rocketeer, a fun movie. Nice work Niss. Have you considered flipping the images. If you want I can see if I have a picture of The Phantom sitting on his throne that is a straight on shot? It is too bad someone hasn't done a Struzan on any of these movies. I thought about doing it back in my art school days, but never got around to it.

Hi Don.
You mean using the throne on the back and the torso shot on the front? (That's what they did for the retail cover, you know?) Anyway, this was the poster I wanted for the front, as it is the moodiest and coolest of them all, and yes, better than the film itself.

I am toying with the idea of doing a Struzan cover for Phantom. I believe he only did colour comprehensives for it but never an actual poster. None of them are in any of the Drew books, so I don't know how I can source them.

The Phantom was hard to find good images for, so anything you have I'd love to see (PM me).

It's funny you should say that. I wonder where Lucas (and whoever else wrote that shit pile) got the idea of crystal skulls from...
