If you wish to see constructive criticism read on:

[Show spoiler]Why would you take the title and shrink it down into the upper right corner like that? It's a classic title treatment and it makes it look very out of place on a poster that it has already been seen on. I'd say either use it or don't on the front. You could enlarge the title (the way it should be IMO) and put it behind the swimmer and partially coming out of the water or something if you're concerned about a place for it. There's always a way.

Also, why the navy color spine? Use a color from the front like the blue of the water or something.

Good use of the iconic imagery on the front and back. I will be interested to see how you lay out the summary and specs on the back.

Love it.

The Australian DVD I got was ordered from a reputable source but the quality was not that great.

Probably my favorite Alistair MacLean based movie is "When Eight Bells Toll". Here is a custom I did for that movie awhile back should it ever make it to Blu-ray:

Its an entertaining spy adventure starring a young-ish Anthony Hopkins as a British secret agent. Its on DVD in Region 2 and available for free to stream online.

Here is "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker":
[Show spoiler]

Another MacLean movie I transferred from VHS to DVD was "Hostage Tower" (1980) which is mostly interesting because it featured Maud Adams.

Hubunkey is correct. Instead of Right Clicking to save the covers, click on the Options button at the bottom of the page and then click Download full size.

Really fantastic covers BTW.

I liked your idea of the JAWS bigger and behind the swimmer, and I think the front cover looks a hell of alot better. thanks. I also fixed the spine. I was originally thinking of matching the front and spine, but just did a navy blue to see first as I wanted to put the original shark on the spine. but I didn't do it on this, as I feel it would look out of place. For the back I added some more Amity PD signs and put the story summary and special features on it. I don't feel that the movie specs would look as good on the back cover.

so, comes the question, lol, any tips, suggestions, criticisms? constructive of course, lol.

Wasn't the welcome to Amity Island billboard defaced in the movie? It would be nice if you included the defaced version. I'd kind of like the billboard as the front cover....

I think this looks spectacular now. I believe someone said they'd like to see someone attempt this a while back (and be good, nonetheless) and you've done a pretty fantastic job. Pat yourself on the back. You could surely touch it up a bit more here and there.

Not sure about the fonts you've chosen, but I'm not good at listing fonts you should use. I also don't know if you need to have the Universal logo in the same style as you have the front and spine. It kinda washes it out a bit. Would like to see some spec logos on there too.

bpmford did one a while back that I can still remember being awesome. You might pm him. Not sure how often he pokes his head around here anymore. He might be like me, taking a sabbatical from the cover designing. Never hurts to ask.

Yes, you are correct, it was defaced, but not until later in the movie after the Ben Gardner incident. At the start of the movie when Chief Brody is driving to work after getting the call, they show the unmolested billboard. As much fun as the defaced one is, I think it would look out of place with its goofieness, lol.

thanks for your comments. i believe the universal logo got a little mashed up when I was adjusting the picture on the 3D bluray case, but I can say, on the regular, it looks fine. sure there are some little minor touch-ups, but if you are looking at the difference between the front cover and the spine and finding the differences there, its because when i put it on the 3D bluray case, i have to make a couple of cuts and skew the hell outta the pic to make it fit. again, on the regluar slip, if printed out, everything would line up.

yeah, fonts are not my game, i was just playing around with different ones, and clicking on different effects and said, bah, hell with it for now, lol and just left it. If anyone has a good recommendation for a font for the story summary and bonus features, I am all ears.

For spec logos, are you talking about the bluray symbol and stuff like that?
