Personally I prefer the custom Nissen made for it.
What does that one look like?

EDIT: On the above three, you have to either purchase downloading rights, or register and have a post count of at least 10 (and the posts cant be made just to raise the count). I don't want to do either of those just for one cover. That's the only one I need a cover for, the art is nice, but the box is a stupid design.

EDIT: Never mind, I found it through Google Images here.

I finally finished my first version of Friends Blu-ray covers. See below for a style B in progress. PM me if you want these covers.

Friends - Version 1 - Style A

Here is my style B of these covers, and as you can see, they are still a work in progress. The empty white space is designed for stills.

I posted this a couple of pages back and it got overlooked. Can anyone help?

If not, how much would one of you lovely people charge for creating such a cover?

Few more I have been working on for my own collection of movies.

The Dark Knight Trilogy

Hellboy

I did this for as a request from someone and I think I like it enough that I will use it myself for my collection as well.

Underworld Collection

This one I took some design elements from the Legacy Collection retail box as well as using what I think to be one of the most iconic pictures from the movie series. I know Selene is not in all 4 movies, but its a great pic and I dont really get tired of looking at her, so I went with it.

I am still learning so comments or suggestions are always welcome.

As you can see this is for all the cuts of Watchmen based on the cover of the paperback version of the book.

Any advice/criticisms welcome.
I like this design, but I cut it down to 5 discs, since I don't think the theatrical cut is included on Blu-ray in any releases. Also, as another poster noted, the spine isn't quite wide enough.

If I had one that combined all the discs, I would share it. I might try a custom in the same vein later on, but this was good enough for me to get the discs out of that clunky box.

I like these. If I catch the box set on a gold box special or something, I will be tempted to buy it.

I wish I had discovered custom covers back when I was buying DVDs, the packaging was usually even more cumbersome and aggravating. Not to mention the discs scratched way easier.

Actually I think the UK got the theatrical cut on Blu-Ray.

Thanks for that, I've sent him a PM. Hopefully he'll reply.

Funny, because I would love these if the Criterion label wasn't on them. Just out of curiosity:

1. Is the Criterion label on them because this artwork is unique and therefore anything unique, creative, and artsy needs a Criterion label on them (because it doesn't)?
2. Would the original artist (who I'm assuming knows you're using his/her work to make a blu-ray cover out of it) know and consent to a pointless Criterion label being slapped on the edge?

That is all.

Ignore them. I enjoy your work and I know I'm not the only one.

I find it hilarious how some people get so bent that you make faux Criterion covers.

There will always be the few @$$holes who will be that way, I personally really enjoy your Criterions, heck I even started doing my own. I can tell you I would be really upset if you didnt continue sharing your criterion covers. they are some of the very very covers i actaully download and use

Keep posting them, Official Criterion or not, a lot of the art just looks great.

In solidarity with RDZ, I'm now posting previews of a Criterion-inspired FanEdit Collection I'm doing for a client.

I think what most people respond to in the Criterion layout is the rigid structure, uniformity and easy customization. People don't necessarily associate it with, or reserve it for, art-house cinema any longer. Whenever I use the Criterion layout for something, it's always a bit tongue-in-cheek, naturally.

These are Blu-ray covers for Harmy's despecialized editions, L8wrtr's Prequel Trilogy and Q2's Fall of the Jedi trilogy.

In addition to Star Wars, Indiana Jones fan edits are to follow.

I will just quote Nissen's post (you know, the one right above yours):

Not that difficult of a concept to grasp.

Like I've said a hundred times, I like the uniformity of it. I love their template. I am NOT trying to make them feel like Criterion discs. Not trying to make myself feel better about my collection or make them seem better than what they are.

I like the design, pure and simple. If Kino or Lions Gate or anyone else had a design I liked, I would probably use it. Criterion just happens to have a reputation of being a upper echalante (sp?) company.
