Hey guys,
I'm working on a custom for Vampire's Kiss. Here is what I have so far. Unfortunately when I created an insert poster of this years ago I didn't save the entire main artwork. It got cropped for the insert size. So I'm not happy about how this is turning out since the image is so cropped. Does anyone have access to a hires file of the original Vampire's Kiss art? Showing MORE LEG!!!!!!! If so please PM me… Thanks.. Donnie VAMPIRE'S KISS LORES TEST.jpg |

Agreed! I personally have only "dabbled" a little bit in custom covers (it's been a long while since I've done much of anything, what I have done was posted here a while back). Not everyone is at the same skill level, and even regardless of skill level, some people may simply make design and stylistic choices that differ greatly in terms of complexity. How pleasing the end result is of any custom cover made is going to vary in the eye of the beholder, depending upon their personal preferences and at times interest in the particular movies/shows the covers are made for. I tend to "lurk" in this thread more than I post (something that I should change), but I've seen many of Sukie's covers. I like some of them more than others, but overall I dig the general style. To cite a couple of specific examples, the Finding Nemo covers are pretty cool. I like the nice, full colorful images that goes all around the entire case (front, spine, and back), with the simple titling that is on there. I also dig the Indiana Jones collection cover. That one almost looks like it could be official. Some people are arguing that "a picture is not a custom cover." Have you not seem many Blu-Ray box sets (including the official Indiana Jones set) or many official, highly collectible steelbooks? Many of them come with all of the writing, specs, and so forth on a removable piece of cardboard that most people probably throw away, with the cases usually mainly being images with the movie title on it and so forth. Sukie's covers remind me a lot of that sort of thing. This is as close to an equivelant to those things that is possible while having it still be a cover for a regular Blu-Ray case that you can print up at home. They may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I dig it. Also, as someone else seemed to imply, I'm not aware of there being any hard rules as to there being a limit as to how many images or posts someone is allowed to make in this thread per day. Regardless of whether or not someone's covers are your "cup of tea" or not, I think it's silly to complain how many custom covers someone is posting in a custom cover art thread. I like some covers more than others, and not all covers posted here are necessarily my "cup of tea," but I more than appreciate the work that went into them (regardless of complexity) and the fact that people are sharing them in the first place for those who want them. And I'd rather see a lot of covers posted in here, including those that may not be to my personal preference, and those that may be simpler than others, than to have pages and pages of discussion with almost no artwork posted. Discussion, of course, is welcome. It's a natural part of this subject as well. Compliments and even constructive criticism are welcome. It's fine to suggest something that might improve (at least to you) someone's covers if it's done politely, or ask if they artist would be willing to do a variant based on a preference. Maybe they will do so if they feel up to it. But they are not obligated to move forward with those suggestions if they don't want to and/or are happy doing things the way that they have been, and they shouldn't stop posting their covers because not everyone necessarily likes them. To Sukie and anyone else with similar feelings, please continue your work and please continue to share it with us. Don't let a few "nay-sayers" ruin it for you! Not sure. Maybe try putting some sort of masking on there? Similar to this. The problem is, it's not really your style with the solid image.
[Show spoiler] I like the image because of the colours and scale of it all but maybe trying a different image with more simplicity or something darker on the back side. I'm no expert, just trying to give some honest feedback ![]() |

Got some more custom slipcovers thanks to Lomadu and Toxsic. Lomadu made the art for Crash and Frequency and Toxsic printed them out for me. Great stuff as usual. Thanks!

Can someone please help me... everything I try when printing out these custom covers seems to hold the same results, too BIG or too little! What do you guys do? I've printed without scaling and it was too BIG, I printed with undercover xp and it was too short in length. What's the deal here?

I had it printed at a place called POSTNET around the corner from me. It's printed on just very standard printer paper through their Xerox iGen printer. We did have to print them through PhotoShop to get them to print at the proper size. After tax it was only $0.41 a print. They even used their guillotine cutter to properly cut the covers for me.

![]() ![]() I finished my Marvel Cinematic Universe Collection. For now. Until I get some other ideas of how to remake that cover. Here is the look with the second one that's still in progress: ![]() I don't really like that Empire cover, but I guess it works fine as a "phase 2" cover, cause it shows characters but it doesn't feel like a "exact movie poster". Also it works well with the Avengers poster from phase one. But I may change it if there will be something better in a few months. |

Alphabetical order - good point. I throw out few names in the Phase 2 cover. Too many names brings chaos. |
