Default Avengers: Age of Ultron WIP

You all knew this was coming. I'm glad were finally getting art for this movie so I can start some real progress on the cover.

Side note, I'm wish we were already in Phase Three so I could start using my new template. It's quite beautiful.

Demonology--beautiful cover for Crying Freeman. Way better than the one I put together when I got this disc. Please let us know when that is finished.

Robert Downey Jr.'s head looks terribly out of place on this cover. Also, I'm not criticizing just you in this, but everyone that has created avengers covers... Why does everyone go with the unmasked look on every single cover? Do you really all enjoy seeing the actors faces that much? If there's one consistent complaint I see across all forums about retail art, it's the whole "floating heads/actors face" complaint.

Why not use "Captain America", "Iron man", etc... and not "Robert Downey Jr as Iron man", "Chris Evans as Captain America" etc? My main complaint with all the Avengers Custom covers on this site is that they all seem to focus on the actors rather than the characters. Can you imagine if DC had done the same thing for Batman Begins or The Dark Knight? Instead of a fully costumed actor (Batman/Joker) we'd get half a bat suit and a big Christian Bale Head or a Heath ledger Head on top of a Joker costume.

The people paying to see these movies are paying to see the characters from the comics, not the actors... why the is such a push to show the actors face in every single frame is more then annoying, it's just downright disrespectful to the properties themselves.

With all of that said, I like the cover and think it looks pretty solid aside from my soap box rant.

Well, it's official poster art, not created by me so I can't really change anything about Robert Downey Jr.'s out of place head, other than add the helmet to him with Photoshop.

EDIT: Here's a quick edit to the poster art. I added Iron Man's helmet to his suit.

Not gonna say anything about your "rant" as it would be completely off topic to this thread.

Yeah at the time I posted that I didn't realize you lifted the art from other sources and didn't piece it together yourself. All of the recent Avengers art looks so overly photo-shopped to me these days that I assumed it was being created exclusively by fans and didn't realize it was official artwork in magazines and on posters, so I apologize if you felt singled out by my comments. With that said, I think with some tweaking and color correction that iron man helmet actually would look pretty cool. Slap on Captain America's mask/helmet and you'd really have something.

But again, sorry if I came off like an ass before, as it wasn't my intent. Your covers are quite good as is, and miles better than many of the official release artwork that's out there. As a Comic book collector of over 23 years, seeing the movies advertising the actors rather then the properties themselves tends to rub me the wrong way.

The problem with faces is with money. It was question raised many years ago when Fight Club came in. Fincher wanted only soap on poster, but when you pay sh**t load of money for having an actor like Brad Pitt, you have to show his face on the poster. So I guess it's the same here. You have to show RDJ face. Contracts.

Available now on my blog. NOTE: These covers are standalone.
If I ever make matching X-Men covers, these aren't part of the matching covers.

Because the actual retail cover for Steven Spielberg's first film "DUEL" looks like a straight-to-DVD movie from the late-90s, I decided to do a custom cover.

Still have to tweak some things here and there (RONIN pictures placeholder by BunnyDojo) Hope you like it so far.

Looks great, I just wonder if you should move Matt up more? I think the point of the poster is to contrast the lawyer attire with the bloody knuckles especially. Maybe switch "A Netflix Original Series" and the Daredevil logo?

I would crop the netflix logo, eventually replace the netflix in the "netflix series" with a logo, and bring Matt up.

biggest I could find.

A few people criticized the frequent rate at he was posting them and the relative lack of effort required. He took it very personally and made a dramatic exit, at which point many people voiced their support. But that wasn't enough for him to continue sharing or acknowledge all the support. Maybe he unsubscribed and no one passed along the posts to him?

Edit: my mistake, it wasn't lomadu, it was Sukie, and he did acknowledge the support.

That was not lomadu, it was me and I have acknowledged all the support. You can find my acknowledgement at about 10 pages back. I have unsubscribed from this thread, but told lomadu I would drop in from time to time.

That's what she said.

But seriously, someone should do me a huge favor and make some quick and nasty individual covers for the 3 Big Mamma's House films. Bought the trilogy and there are zero covers for them on here, EFX, or CM :-(

I bet Sukie could come up with some funny ones.
