Cool, except IMO all the title treatments should match. It's condensed on the spine and back from some reason, and stretched on the front cover. Uniformity goes a long way in making a cover look professional and authentic. And neither one is the "official" title treatment on from the poster because the one one the cover is stretched.

Yeah, I kind of saw that too... I'm correcting now!

Does anyone know how to set the title on the spine without distorting the image and still be able to read it?

I had a bit of trouble with the spine on this one...

I think there should be a themed set of Fast and Furious covers that deal with certain characters.

F1: Brian and Dom
2F: Brian and Roman
FTD: Sean and Han
FF: Brian and Dom
Ff5: Brian, Dom, Hobbs
FF6: Brian, Dom, Letti
f7: Brian (His Tribute)

Okay, I finally have a design I like for the RCA covers (and I think they look closer to the original spines for the VHS boxes). Here are three more I have
completed:

If anyone would like a copy, just send a PM.

Because of the "vertical" nature of the graphics, this is a title treatment that is simply not conducive of a spine, at least not without changing the font drastically.

I fooled around with if for a few minutes and decided if I were doing a cover, I'd go "non-traditional" on the spine TT...

Robert George and I collaborated on this cover. He did the front and spine, and I did the back. Here's the full cover, enjoy:

Somebody asked for one without quotes, which was pretty easy to do:

Any double-feature Horrible Bosses cover created? I saw a couple for DVD but nothing for Blu.

Very cool!

But my OCD is kicking in with that ancient Dolby Digital logo...

Universal has used this for a while now:

Default Been a while since I was last in here...

Browsed a bit: great to see everyone still putting out such awesome work!

In the interim I've switched to a new laptop running Windows 8.1, which my ancient copy of Photoshop 6 refuses to install to, so I took that as an opportunity to upgrade to Photoshop CC.

So a couple things I've been working on recently. I previously posted these in the Anime subforum, but since we don't (yet) have a dedicated custom cover thread, I thought I'd repost them here. I've only started preliminary conceptual work on the backs, but here are the front and spines.

Kill La Kill, complete series collection (15mm case, Ryuko & Satsuki variations):

Gurren Lagann, complete TV and movie collection (25mm case):

Both are intended to collect Aniplex of America's volume releases into a single case, since they take up a fair amount of shelf space.

Here is a new series I am going to attempt (inspired by Nissen's wonderful covers) based upon the old RCA Columbia VHS boxes:
Blue Thunder:

7th Voyage of Sinbad:

Let me know what you think (I am going back and forth on whether or not to have the original film logo on the spine or to emulate what the VHS spines looked like).
hope the blue thunder cover you will be sharing.

All of these great VHS cover recreations bring back memories

- when Video shops were mysterious dark, dank places with walls of box shaped
movies to rent and an adult section I wasn't allowed in

- I spent a lot of time in the Horror section when I was a kid and sometimes the cover ended up being scarier than the film

great work y'all
thanks for the memories

indeed. Remember those 'clamshell' style boxes from those VHS days.
