I already posted one of these in the Anime subforum's relevant custom art thread but I figured I'd post the rest in here because Evangelion is far less niche than the titles I usually post in that thread and known to a wider audience so I figured it appropriate to pop these up here whereas the lesser known stuff I keep out of everyone's way by putting it in the subforum where people actually know the shows.
These are designed in preparation of the upcoming complete Blu-Ray set. I don't know if I did the 25mm case right as I didn't use a template. ![]() ![]() ![]() Still unsure on what to put on the back (got something started on EoE but I can't use that for the other two). Wasn't too keen on using overused art for the covers like I did for the TV set and Death and Rebirth but I really love that one image for Death & Rebirth so I had to use it and I'm thinking I might do a few variations for the TV series, I really like that image too but I'm not too fussed about not using it. For the text I found the font used on the official DVDs and replicated the layout and spacing for the title, and for the sub-titles I painstakingly spent a night figuring out the font used on the End of Evangelion DVD release and adapted it to fit how I decided to theme the designs. For the spines I used the same two fonts to replicate the official US/AUS/UK spines for the two films (rather, I replicated the EoE one, then just adapted the other two spines to match, however the official Death and Rebirth spine has the same text and layout as EoE so that'd be the same too anyway) I'm soso on what I've got for the series but I really like what I've got for the two films. Though I'm kicking myself for designing them to a US 11mm case because we don't use those in Australia and they look ugly af to me. But I can change that when the time comes. |

Are there any specific printers that are more recommended for this than others? I ask because, I've been interested in printing replacement covers for my DVDs and BD in the event their current covers become damaged, but every time I've preformed test prints, the covers never look good. They always end up looking faded or slightly blurry. The printer I use now is a Canon Pixma MP435 inkjet, but even when I used the office printer at one of my previous jobs (a no-no, I know) the covers still didn't look right. The last time I did test prints, I used 28lb Color Copier Digital Hammermill paper. It feels right, not too thick, not too thin, but ti just doesn't seem to hold the ink on images. Would a photo printer work better?
This question has probably already been answered, so I apologize in advance, but I didn't feel like searching through 900+ pages. |

Lt. Brannigan has inspired me to do my own Lion King. I thought I did one, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it. I also have another version in the works right now.

Who is currently the best on this forum when it comes to printing custom sleeves/covers, what have you at the proper dimensions so it fits nice and snug inside a blu-ray case so I don't have to cut it myself and that it's printed on the correct paper? I just use to goto member "Metrock" ALL the time, he was my go to guy he did everything perfectly, I would show him what I wanted he would download the file or take the file from me and he would do the rest for a fee. For some reason he's unresponsive and I can't seem to find out when he last visited the site.
So, I'm looking for who is generally considered the best printer here, I always have something or another I wanted printed and am always willing to pay obviously. Please PM me if you know someone, or are that someone I am looking for. And if anyone has had contact with "Metrock" and he's fine please let me know, thank you all. |

Twilight Time finally released a disc with new artwork that I actually like. Martin Ritt's revisionist western stars certified screen legend Paul Newman and has been graced with a stunning transfer for Blu-ray. While the new art is rather nice looking, it is still "new", and for a film like this, I still prefer something from that era. When I went looking for theatrical poster art, I found a couple I liked, but could not decide which I preferred. Hence, two versions of custom covers.

The Gary Cooper classic western, Man of the West, has been released in the UK by Eureka in their Masters of Cinema series. The MoC release is a two-disc set with a DVD. I've cooked up a US-style cover for a Blu-ray only and sized for a standard 11/12mm case.

I guess Twilight Time is going for the "artsy fartsy" vibe these days...
That's all fine I guess. But this is my version... |

Thank you. I was looking for a front cover image that was not the same old two-head shot of Hackman and Dafoe that has been used for years, but was more "traditional" than Twilight Time's.

Well, after lots of faffing about I've managed to make an acceptable looking Blu-ray cover of one of my Warner designs, by using a 14mm spine.
![]() Now comes the tedious task of converting the 17 other Warner covers I've done to Blu-ray. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
