Actually, the studio cover uses the original poster art but with a different title treatment and omitting some of the elements of Richard Amsel's original one sheet. The reformatting on the studio cover is due to the difference between the dimensions of a theatrical poster and a Blu-ray case. Not quite as bad as trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, but not far off.

I have placed the full poster beside my reformatted image to fit a Blu-ray case to illustrate what has to be done to retain as much of the original height as possible...

With all that said, since I had gone to the trouble of working up a front cover image, I decided to finish the cover using the studio back with just the replacement of one photo and a spine I had to make, but made to look like Warner's.

And before anyone points out that The Road Warrior was called Mad Max 2 everywhere but in the US, I'm in the US, my disc is in the US, and when I saw this flick back in 1982, it was in the US and the title was The Road Warrior.

My current work-in-progress. I consider this cover a
big departure from my usual style of covers, and I'm really liking
the way it looks so far. I have yet to actually see this movie, but I desperately want to.

Still working on a couple more John Wayn films. I do have a piece of art for Once Upon..., but it is a real bear getting it the right size. I hope I can make it work, but it will take some time.
