Release Date: 15/5/10

Now just waiting on A Bug's Life and Australia is FINALLY up to date with their Pixar Blu's!

Good price too at $29.98, although expect Big W to beat that
I find Ezydvd's website the best for coming soon releases:

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/coming.zml?...10&mode=filter

They've had Toy Story 1 and 2 listed for about a month now; I've been keeping an eye out as I'm anxious for them too.

Just an FYI, you can import from the uk already and the total cost for both of them will be less then $30AU.

Got a link for that? I did have a look around, and the best I've been able to find is at just over $31AU delivered. Of course, the actual cost will change depending on the exchange rate at the time, because each site I went to said they're not due to be released over there until 10th May.

Same with The Hurt Locker. Such a good movie is worth coughing up and extra $10 in order to watch it now, rather than wait 3 uneccesary months.

Not only that, but your cover will be filled with OSCAR crap..

Thanks mate, I think it was Amazon UK where I was at, where they had pretty much the same kinda deal but they don't ship until at least 10th May because that's their release date.

It wouldn't arrive out here until at least a couple of weeks later though, by which time they will have been released out here locally. At this point I'm inclined to hold out for a possible local double pack release, but even so, I wouldn't have a problem with paying $25 to $30 for each one come release day.

Good to see we are getting some releases I was keen on that are harder to get:
- Carriers. Has european releases, but not US or UK
- In The Electric Mist - we get the DC + TC. US and UK just get the TC

There are probably more, but they were a couple high on my want list.

I see that predator is being "re-authored." Is this a MPEG4 transfer as opposed to the old mpeg2? Or has something else changed? Frankly if it's a mpeg4 transfer I dont see how the image is going to improve over the heavily grainy mpeg2 transfer...

There's been no confirmation on what the "re-authoring" involves. It'll be interesting to see whether it is a new transfer or not. In all likelihood it'll probably be the same transfer but this time they'll put all the 2-disc DVD special features on there to make it a "special edition" for the new Predators film.

Fox might surprise us though...

It usually only takes 4 to 6 days at most for me to recieve packages from the uk using 101cd and cdwow. Amazon.co.uk can be painfully slow though.

Yeah their estimate was for at least two weeks delivery. I found it strange because I've definitely gotten stuff faster from the UK (compared to the US) in the past.

You can pretty much import what you want from both 101cd and cdwow knowing everything there is going to work on our Blu-Ray players, right?

101cd.com: yes, cdwow.com.au: no. CDWow stocks all types of region releases so you should check which release it is before you buy (the region should be noted on the product page).

As for delivery times, I have found most to be fairly similar. Amazon UK is anywhere between 2-12 days, same goes for 101cd. CDWow has always been slower with a range more like 4-Godknowshowlong days (ie up to 30+ days in some cases).

Amazon UK for me has consistently been the best retailer in terms of dispatch and delivery dates. Their items have always dispatched by the date they say (101CD.com and CDWow have both been guilty of failing this for me) and they always arrive well before the delivery estimate.

I ordered thing four days ago from the uk and they have arrived, others haven't. I think amazon really cheaps out on the speed of there shipping as they are always slow.
