Did anyone check out the releases for march? Looking pretty good. I look to pick up: Smokin Aces, 2012, The Gift, Invention of Lying. Also going to rent out and buy if they are any good: Surrogates, Whiteout, Smokin Aces 2

Actually, I should note that The Gift that's listed isn't the Sam Raimi/Cate Blanchett pic of the same name (if that's the one you're thinking of) but actually a mystery thriller starring Shane West and Ving Rhames that was released under the title Echelon Conspiracy in the U.S.

I also know it's not that "The Gift", but I really wish it was. Massive Sam Raimi fan and I really enjoy that film so I'm hoping it's done well when it finally does come to Blu.

I have a question for Mr Promoscape re 'The Last Emperor' on bluray... is this transfer in the controversial cropped aspect ratio of 2:1 as approved by the director and the cinematographer Vittorio Storaro? Apparently this is the ratio found on the currently available Criterion DVD and bluray - many folks are not happy that Storaro has reframed the picture, and want to see the film in the wider ratio that was originally shown theatrically - I am just curious to know what we will get in Oz.

Hats off to you for the groovy menus - those Picnic at Hanging Rock ones are perfect

I've added a few music titles to the release list today:

StatusQuo - Pictures: Live at Montreux 2009 and The Who: Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 on April 16; Carlos Santana Presents Blues at Montreux 2004 on April 23; and Return to Forever Returns on April 30.

Hot on the trails of this year's Oscars, studios have revealed that the drama Precious will be available on June 9; Best Picture winner, war drama The Hurt Locker will be out on June 24; and the inspiring Sandra Bullock-starring sport drama The Blind Side will be available from July 14.

The hit romcom with an all-star ensemble cast, Valentine's Day will be out on June 30; the Aussie vampire action thriller Daybreakers will hit store shelves on June 16; and the Rob Marshall-directed musical Nine will be out on June 2.

Also hitting store shelves on June 2 is the 2006 Poseidon remake, and the Michael Jackson feature Moonwalker. That same day, in celebration of Clint Eastwood's 80th birthday, Warner will release Absolute Power, Kelly's Heroes, The Rookie and Where Eagles Dare for the first tome on Blu, alongside his latest film Invictus.

James Cameron's Avatar has also been confirmed for April 29 after much speculation, and a few other titles have changed dates: Bright Star has been moved from April 29 to June 3; Fantastic Mr Fox and Tooth Fairy have been moved from May 26 to June 16; and The Princess and the Frog has been moved from June 2 to June 16 as well.

Expect The Wolfman, A Single Man, Edge of Darkness, Percy Jackson, Shutter Island and Law Abiding Citizen to be added to the list very soon. So far, they're all estimated for release sometime in June. I'll update when dates are set.

Cannot justify waiting until June 24 for The Hurt Locker when Amazon UK has it there right now...

Pretty good month. Definitely picking up The Lovely Bones. It quickly became my favorite movie of all time. Saw it 4 times at the movies and I've been waiting so patiently for the BD. Another definite purchase is Nowhere Boy, which was also one of the best movies of last year IMO. Anyone plan to pick up the bare bones LOTR or Avatar? Might wait till they drop in price. Saving my money for Zombieland, Sherlock and Toy Story next month!

You're the first person I have meet who was extremely positive about The Lovely Bones.

I'm probably one of the few, which is disappointing IMO. Will be picking up my copy tomorrow!
