Is the Target exclusive of Argo going to be $32.99 in store? That seems like a steep increase in price just for a different cover and a 30 minute featurette.

No. It will be $22.99. It's listed in their weekly ad (which you can view on Target's website or here in the Movie and TV Deals forum). Target just hasn't updated their website's prices to reflect tomorrow's release date prices.

Beg? I don't think so. You pay the price, you get the rights. There are few exceptions to that, the Beatles being one of them, although I've been hearing lots of Beatle songs (although not the original recordings) showing up in TV spots lately, which Yoko used to claim she'd never permit, although she actually doesn't own the rights to most of the Beatles' publishing - Sony/ATV does. That's the business music publishers are in - getting those songs used in other media and getting other artists to cover songs. That's how the writers make money.

When Microsoft used the Stones' "Start Me Up" when they launched one of the versions of Windows (possibly Windows '98), I heard they paid $1 million, but that might have been apocryphal.

Me too, I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I wonder how limited the Target exclusive will be. Cuz otherwise I will wait for below $20.

The Target exclusive doesn't do much for me, probably isn't all that great. Anyone know the price at Walmart? I'm getting Sinister at midnight and wanna pick this up as well, my 2nd favorite film of 2012.

Until "School Of Rock," Led Zeppelin had never allowed it. Took jack black literally begging for it to work.

It's a 30 minute behind the scenes feature. We've known that for weeks.

I got my Target exclusive, the store had about 10 copies. There's no third disc or anything so I'm thinking it may be on the main Blu-ray disc, about to find out.

No third disc in mine either, but I can't check until later tonight. Please confirm when you find out. Thanks!

The back of the slip lists it as:

From the Argo Files
  • A discussion with the cast of Argo
  • Tony Mendez on Tony Mendez
  • The Istanbul Journey
