AMC's "Fear The Walking Dead" (Season 8)

Really impressed by FTWD! The first two episodes were great, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

I'm a huge fan of any post apocalyptic TV show/movies, and so far this is accurate re: showing what would probably happen in the beginnings of a breakdown of society....i.e., mass panic, civil unrest, traffic jams, etc....

The sense of unease has grown significantly from EP1 to EP2. One of my favorite scenes in EP2 was in the crowd barricade scene when the female punk rocker zombie kept coming at one of the soldiers, until she was finally taken down. Very cool & disquieting scene, and a sign of the times ahead...

I also suspect that this series may make more people interested in watching TWD. In fact, I know of some people who are watching FTWD who haven't seen TWD yet...since this is being correctly billed as a completely new series...

If it was yet another meh episode than I'm glad I stopped. Would rather spend the time revisiting Season 5 all month long before Season 6 in October.

Watched ep 1.....

I enjoyed this much more than TWD. It was slow and took it's time but I felt more connected to this. It's not exiciting to watch TWD.... hopefully this continues.

It amazes me that people that haven't watched TWD will watch FWD.

Me too, but I suspect that those people may have caught on too late and would rather watch the first season of a brand new show than catching up on five seasons of another.

Well, the pacing was much better, so that was a plus. However, the characters are still extremely stupid!! I mean, ridiculously so. Nobody lets anyone finish a thought and interrupts like they have a handle on everything and know it all. And then nobody is willing to just communicate. The mom keeps getting asked questions and all she does it take a deep breath and closes her eyes to meditate or some nonsense! Just take a minute to explain some things and you won't have to deal with your daughter trying to run out into a dangerous situation! I hate stupid characters.

I think the whole family will survive season one since it's so short and they want people to get used to them a bit before they off anyone major. Once they reveal more regulars or as many as you can have in this sort of show they will feel out who is popular to viewers and who is not and go from there as far as deaths.

Wonder if they make it to the desert eventually since they keep talking about it.

I think that is part of the reason this show has been meh for me. Seems each one of them has seen or did something different w the 'zombies' yet no one shares. This is a family that is trying to survive yet no one shares w the excuse that others will be more afraid. If the girl knew there were zombies around trying to eat other people like all the rest of her family knew then I bet she wouldn't want to go out to save neighbors.

I'm still waiting for someone from Compton to be part of the main cast or something in that vein. Having a Latin barber become part of the cast is nice, but so far the show has been surviving as a middle class white American family. I want to see people from the 'hood' and from Hollywood hills and their stories.. That would actually be interesting. There is no need to show a full family of four middle class as the main cast. Even changing it up w the stepfather it is still a washed cast. They are killing the black characters faster than in twd.

I still like Travis & Tobias is kinda cool.

Tobias is a cool dude. I like him. This episode was definitely a little better than the pilot. I'm still not getting the characters names down yet haha but I think the daughter will be offed very soon. I don't know how I feel about her. She's *****y (she is a teenager after all) but I like that she cares for her brother so much.

I'm lobbying for Tobias to live and meet up with TWD group in season 7

Tobias will be the first to die. The future is the 2 Clark kids thats for sure here. Alicia is being build as The "Maggie" version on this show.

IDK you seem to be the only one here rooting for that. I don't think there are that many followers of hers tbh.
I do hope she gets more screen time to see what she can deliver.

Actually think I enjoyed the first episode more than the 2nd.

I expect the whole first season to be a bit of a slower burner, Though it will need to pickup as WD bores me to tears half the time but I've watched 5 seasons of it so have to carry on really.

She'll die, it may not be this Season but they will kill her off. She is eye candy and zombie fodder. Nothing about her makes her stand out imo. And while The 100 was a ok show it wasn't anything to get worked up over. And who cares if she has a huge following from The 100. Sean Bean has his fans and we all saw what happened in GOT.

I liked to see how long she last though.

She will last they are building her as the Maggie version of this show and she is ey candy too and not zombie fodder as they have proved your views don't hold up if you think about it. She is also the only one that has been on a talk show for this show. Its clear she is the star of this show.

Yes cause her scenes were so riveting and moving.
Stop fanboying over her and just admit you have a crush.
I'm not going to lie, I think she is pretty hot. If she survives then great. If not I'm not going to cry over spilled milk. Like I said, we are only in episode 2 of Season 1. We don't know where it will go. I don't see how they are building her up to be the Maggie of FWD though.

I want Tobias to live but in all honesty I think he'll probably die. He seems like a cool guy that has a lot of information and is actually useful.
