She wasn't a guest last night, but has been on a few times this season. I would watch just for her!
Also I would highly recommend The 100. I've been watching since it first aired and it's a pretty good show.

Watching FTWD this season makes me really hope that TWD gets it's act together because FTWD is the better show right now. I'd say this was the best walking dead half season since the back half of season 5 of TWD. Really looking forward to the back 8.

I never thought I'd say this but Fear the Walking Dead is stomping the heck out of The Walking Dead right now. If TWD doesn't get its' act together soon I may stop watching. I may be in a minority but the last season of TWD bored me to tears most of the time. I own the first 6 seasons on Blu-ray but I won't be buying season 7. I have no desire to ever re-watch that mess. FTWD on the other hand has gotten really good.

Unfortunately, I must agree with you. However, I've read the Walking Dead comics, and I know next season will be better than season 7, but... I also know that the current state of the comics aren't that exciting (in fact, they are quite boring lately).

Next year...
[Show spoiler]they'll probably introduce the Whisperers, but again, that was not that impressive storyline-wise in the comics. The only way it could be made as an exciting plot would be if they takes the *rumored* Fear the Walking Dead characters as the antagonists/Whisperers.

I really hope Robert Kirkman will add some fresh ideas in the comics, because the story is becoming stagnant. He need to do something crazy like a madman thinking he is a modern necromancer, with his horde of zombies!!!

What they need to start doing on TWD is create more original material for the show and stop forcing the comic book material into it. One of the great things about Fear is that we don't know where the story is going so there is a surprise factor to it. Granted, that alone does not make the show better. The writers still need to be able to execute and so far in season 3, they have managed to create some new compelling characters and an unpredictable storyline. TWD really struggled in that department last season after the first episode.

Yay...the mid-season finale!

Back in my day it was just called the "season finale."

...and it came at the END OF THE SEASON.

Looks like I'm missing out. It's a shame I stopped watching back in Season 2.

Would I need to finished the second season or jump back into the series with the current season?

You can probably get by watching the last 2 episodes of season 2, because of the set-up and the separation of the characters.

I used to hate this show (as longtime posters in this thread can attest to) but I'm glad I stuck with it because the show finally got good in season 3. Not just good, great.

The first episode of season 3 was the best episode of the show, and the first half of season 3 had me actively looking forward to each new episode instead of tuning in and watching like it was a chore.

Part of why I hated the show was because The Walking Dead is my favorite show and I was so disappointed that instead of having two good Walking Dead shows, I had one I love and one I resented. Now I have two I love and I'm really enjoying it. I would definitely recommend catching up with season 3.

Season 2 I thought was especially crap, so I don't think you'd be missing much if you didn't watch. You'd probably be fine reading episode recaps.

However, there's a character that comes in in season 2 and appears in 3 (although
[Show spoiler]she did just take off and is gone, at least for now
), there's a big development with one character who is back for 3, and there's a conflict in season 3 between two characters who were both in season 2. Although these characters straight up say what their beef is in the middle of season 3.

So really you could jump into 3 and be fine, as dialogue and a couple of flash backs fill you in on what you would have missed in season 2.

Very good season.

I liked how every character was set up and had their rationale (however wrong) to explain their reasonings and actions.

Two things that REALLY bugged me about the finale:

1) the big brother guy, after getting beat up and almost getting scalped, was in the very next scene looking like absolutely nothing happened. I had to rewind to make sure what I saw happened to the same character. Way to break continuity!

2) big dramatic moment at the end. Then they RUIN it with some bloody awful modern day "trying too hard" to be "emotional" song. Way to take the viewer out of the moment!

How did they break continuity? He clearly had a big cut across his scalp that, like any other cut which isn't too serious, scabbed over. Obviously a length of time had happened there, as Ofelia was dumped at the gate.
How does one not like a cool cover of Stand By Me. I thought it ed.

Watch it again. The gut gets the big cut. They go to a commercial. Ofelia gets dumped at the gate and they're all in the father's office. He looks clean as a whistle. Then 5 minutes later in another scene, he had a big cut across his forehead.

It was ok version (yeah, better than the original), but way out of place and didn't fit with such a scene. Takes you right out of the moment.

I haven't started this season yet, but last season was so boring.

Guess all the positive reviews will make me marathon this season up to the mid-season finale tomorrow.

I did see it. He was cut just enough to break the skin and have blood trickle down his face. Walker is obviously a man of honor. He only wants what he feels is owed him(and his people), which is their land(for the water supply). He's got a modicum of respect for Jake from their past legal dealings which is why he didn't kill him on sight. He just wanted to send a message to Jeremiah. In the next scene there is clearly a scabbed over slice mark just below Jake's hairline. In the interest of pacing we are to believe that the wound wasn't that serious and Jake got back ok via the cut to later in the day and Ofelia being dropped off.
Hollywood has a long history of bodily injury healing at an accelerated rate.
As for the song, didn't take me out of the moment at all. It symbolized what was going on, and what will probably happen, perfectly.

Decent finale.

Only thing that bugged me was the mission to steal the artifact trailer and lose several people in the process to which buddy didn't give a crap about. Lame writing.

Other than that though it was pretty solid. Felt sad to see
[Show spoiler]Abigail go

Huh? Not sure who "buddy" is?
Next to water, that trailer held all the remaining ancestral artifacts cherished by Walker and his people. Madison knew this would be the ultimate bargaining chip, and worth risking lives to obtain.
