Is it just me or did anyone else notice how flimsy the screwdriver seemed to be when opening and closing it.

I'm betting the screwdriver is removable, to make the set more compact when boxed/shipping.

That's intentional. It's designed to be wobbly. I've also read that it's removable and you actually have to stab the eye to "unlock" the set, though locking something like this doesn't make much sense.

Yeah you need to actually "stab" the zombies eye to open the set. Tell me that's not freaking awesome.

But I will have to keep it out of the livingroom though, got a 3 year old and a 4 month old baby, and this will scare the crap out of them

Yep, but before you get your hopes up, I have no idea if that's how the final product will be, that's just what one of the designers from McFarlane Toys hinted at

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments! Very awesome to hear everyone so stoked!

Well, this one is a prototype, but the overall design will not change. It is made to house the series 2 Blu-ray set. As of now, that's not changing. What the pics don't really show is that the screwdriver is actually removable and to open it up, you will have to stab the zombie in the eye, just like in episode 1 of season 2 with the RV Zombie. The plan is to have a small lock that the screwdriver will unlock.

The head itself is not life-size, but darn close.
This is actually based of a scan we did of that actual prop.
I personally did a lot of digital work on this one, and I am very happy with how it came out. There were 2 other sculptors and 2 other modelers that also worked on this as well.
We did this in record time too - sculpt & design from start to finish in 2-3 weeks.

Maybe you guys missed this, I had just dropped $2,400 on a full exhaust so I was already in the dog house. Has nothing to do with price. It was more along the lines of our 4yr old and 2yr old don't need to see such things displayed in the theater. My son is already scared of the Alien Egg.

Hahahaha! Good point!

For me, I'll save my cash for others Blu-rays instead of that Zombie-head Edition. I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind, but I really don't know where I'd display it too (probably hidden somewhere in the cellar, so it'll be useless and collect dust )

I don't think the price for this boxset will go down.
You allready get a 30% discount when pre-ordering, so I think the price will go up.
