I can't find the most up-to-date thread so may be in the wrong place but what is going on with the new season I must have missed some episodes somewhere. The last episode I saw was Morgon on the raft while Alicia walked off into the sunset.
Now we're seven years into the future 'Padre' is a couple of barns, Madison is back and the recap seems I've missed loads. Everyone wanders around in a swamp next scene everyone's clean as a whistle ![]() |

I just updated the thread, this is the correct one. ![]() As for the show, there was an 8 year time jump so you did not miss anything. Stuff is being filled in backstory in the first 2 episodes of this current season. |

Caught the first two episodes… umm… huh?
I get the time jump but this whole PADRE thing is already eyerolling. I know this is the final season. I was hoping they’d kinda go all out, but the production value seems to have taken a noise dive. The first episode seemed like it was some college student film. With the turn of events on EP 2, [Show spoiler] Yes, I know that might be jumping the shark, but in my opinion, this show is that far out there at this point. And, where is Strand? Two episodes in, and he’s only mentioned in passing? Com’on.

I thought 802 was a really good (and shocking) episode. I agree with you in regards to missing characters (Strand) but TWD / FTWD is no stranger to separating all their characters for several episodes until they are reunited (it is tiring) sadly. |

I didn’t mind the plot of S8E02, but everything seems cheap. It was really bad in Ep1. I don’t know if they are trying to cover for some of the actors doing/not doing stunts or what.

I agree! The first episode of the season was pretty meh, but I was very engaging in the second one. Hope the rest of the season gives us more like it!

Thanks, I wasn't sure. I see other people have noticed that it looks very cheap now the continuity is awful the swamp stood out covered in grim then out for a walk all clean. As for splitting up the characters that's a trope 'The Walking Dead' seems to excel at to drag things out but since this is the final season hopefully they'll quickly get whoever left back together. One aspect I did like from last season was the fallout scenes they were a nice visual touch I wonder if we'll get any more or is everything all ok now? |

I think we're meant to believe they've boated out of the radioactive area, and this area is clear.
I at least like that this latest season has been pretty dark. Zombies have been relevant, and if you'd told me two years ago that Jenna Elfman would've gone on a one-woman finger collecting mission, I wouldn't have believed it. ![]() |

Once again, I can only come to the conclusion that the writers of this show are functionally retarded.
I'm here to save you! I don't want to be saved! No wait, save me! No, now I'm not going to save you! I just tried to kill you! But now suddenly I don't want you to die! FFS. What a steaming pile of crap this show has become. Thought they'd maybe improve things for the final season, but nope. All aboard the piece of shit train....full speed ahead!!! |

Morgan! We're taking you back or they'll hurt our child!
We mean it! We'll set your house on fire! Hey man, before you take me back, I gotta do this one thing. I know we literally just tried to kill you, but ya man, take your time. Hey, you know what? Screw our kid, we're with you (again) Morgan! ![]() |

The biggest issue is that it became the Morgan show it still is. Also, Daniel got shot in the head point blank then a massive dam fell on him but the following season he's living the dream with everything he could want. Then a few seasons later he was suffering from dementia but in the current season eight years after the last one, he's the leader of an armed group with no issues. If you watched the main show and got increasingly fed up with the group being split up and the story being dragged out this is currently what fear is doing. |

Just finished World Beyond Season 2 and liked it, thought it was a big improvement over Season 1. It was basically a CW teenie show at first but got better once they got to the research facility. So I was thinking about starting Fear but honestly you guys are kind of talking me out of it.

If you liked World Beyond there's a good chance that you might like Fear. Generally, the main families were quite unlikeable and selfish to the detriment of those around them. The last season wasn't too bad as long as you temper expectations it did have a cool post-apocalyptic nuclear fallout visual effect but some characters were killed off for no real reason. |

It was a huge mistake to move Morgan over to Fear. I really like season 3 of Fear and felt there was some opportunity to take the story in different directions. What I didn’t foresee is the original show runner getting fired, Morgan being moved over and Fear becoming the Morgan Jones show.
Lennie James is a good actor, but, I can only take Morgan’s “kill… I don’t kill… kill… I don’t kill” mantra for so long. |

The trailer for the next episode indicates another one of those typical Walking Dead "insanity" episodes.... involving Morgan... for the 100th time. Almost without exception, I despise episodes of the show revolving entirely around a character losing their sanity. Between TWD and FTWD, this has been done way too many times to be remotely interesting. Especially with Morgan.

1. Becoming the Morgan Jones show. This is so true. I've never really thought Morgan added much to FTWD. He's always seemed out of place there and it really cheapens FTWD by shoehorning in characters from TWD into that show. 2. Killing off quality characters or characters with a lot of potential for no apparent reason. This has happen SO many times, and it is beyond annoying. Just to name a few. Travis - A character I really didn't care much for in season 1, but developed extremely well in season 2... abruptly killed off. Nick - Kind of a dumbass, but the face of the show for the 1st few seasons. Killed off by an annoying kid. Madison - Effectively killed off for several seasons, before they decided to bring her back from the dead. Ofelia - I really liked the development of her character. Than BAM, killed off. Taqa - Very fascinating character in season 3. I believe he survived, but never returned after that season. Troy and Jake Otto - Two more outstanding characters from season 3. Neither lasted a full season. John Dorie - Probably the most likable character of the entire series. Abruptly killed off, like Nick, by an obnoxious kid. Teddy - Probably the most interesting villain of the entire series. But nah, kill him off after a few episodes and turn Victor into the main villain. Great job FTWD. ![]() This isn't even touching on the multitude of characters who simply vanish from FTWD, with little to no explanation as to what happened to them. |
