I kind of hope they do. I want the digipak, but I don't really want to spend the extra money for the zombie head.

No. I'm just being sarcastic because they burned fans who bought the first release of S1 only to release a special edition in the not-so-distant future. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened again.

Why are you upset? Because that sequence was cut? Darabont was still running the show when those decisions were made, so be angry with him, not Mazzara.

Not a bummer to me at all. Amaray and slipcover, just like Season 1's first release. They'll line up perfectly.

Seeing as it's, clearly, a digipak offered with the zombie head, you're probably correct in that we'll get that version released sans head...at least I hope.
Either way I'll wait a few months to see how it all shakes out.

This is what I'll be doing as well.
Prefer to wait it out for a separate digipak special edition to match S1.

Seeing that they already have a "Special Edition" in the zombie head version, I'm wondering if there will be another version to come out? Seems like there is plenty of content already included. Perhaps the Talking Dead episodes?

Yeah, I waited on S1 and got the SE for $19.99...so I'll do the same here.

That's really annoying that the digipak is only available in the special edition. I don't really want to spend about $20 more just to make the two sets match up.

Why couldn't they just release the same packaging for both the standard and special release?

If they only released a digipak, owners of the standard Season 1 would be burned. If they only released an amaray, owners of the special edition Season 1 would be burned. The way they're doing it allows you get get a matching set regardless of what version of the first season you own. At least there is no need to double dip this time around.

Awesome. In order to save some money, my wife and I decided to get the regular release. After seeing the unboxing video however, we switched our pre-order back to the zombie head. My wife freakin loved it, which is rare for her to say anything positive about my blu-ray buying habit, lol. Plus, it will arrive at my doorstep on release day, my birthday. Awesome bday gift!
