As did I

While most people seemed to feel that the entire season being "stuck" in one location was a detriment to the show, I felt it allowed for incredible character developement. While also providing the suspense and gore. Can't wait to get my limited edition set

AMC is really knocking it out of the park with their programming!

I know I'm being lazy, but what's missing Extras wise between this and the UK release?

How many episodes are in season 2? I was bummed that "season" one consisted of only 6 episodes.

A lot of shows start out with smaller first seasons. I don't see why this should be considered surprising. A new show is a gamble, so not all of them are going to get a full season order off the bat. Seinfeld only had six when it started as well, and many others have shorter 13 episode seasons. For cable, it makes sense that would be a small order, since cable shows usually have shorter seasons. That said, season two has thirteen episodes.

AMC was very skeptical about the series when it was in development and filming it's first season. It was a very high-concept (ie, expensive) endeavor for them but they wanted to make the best quality product they could - and they knew that there typical 13-episode budget wasn't going to cut it was the money needed on effects/makeup/post/pre-production so they kept the amount of money they wanted to spend the same but cut the episode order in half (especially when you consider the first episode to be an episode and a half), and asked that there be a good enough ending for the series to be considered a "miniseries" if it was not successful.

Season 3 will be 16 episodes; 8 in the fall 8 in the spring.

Exactly. It really isn't weird at all the first season was shorter.

Not weird, but maybe disappointing to many who loved it instantly and wanted more. Personally, it didn't bother me because I know how TV works. The first seasons of quite a few of my favorite shows were much shorter than the following. Breaking Bad, The Office (U.S.), etc.

I'm stoked to rewatch this season on Blu, marathon style with no commercials. I feel like I'll enjoy it a lot more.
I'm also gonna keep that zombie head from the special edition set right next to the TV to round out the experience.

So is the version of Season 2 that comes in the zombie head in a digipak that matches the Season 1 re-release? Or is it just the standard Blu-ray with slipcover that everyone else gets? Do we know yet?

If they don't end up double-dipping on season 2, and there is no season 2 digipak, it's going to be REALLY annoying as a fan who wants his seasons to line up and look the same on his shelf, but also wants all the special features.

Basically the choices are:

A) Have a matching season 1 and season 2 set, but miss out on all the cool season 1 bonus features from the re-release.

B) Have mismatched seasons on the shelf, but get all the features.

Quite an annoying problem. I know a lot of you don't care about how your releases look, but for those of us who value content AND packaging, this really sucks.

Someone please tell me that the zombie head comes with a digipak version.

It's a digipak. I for one hope down the road they release the special edition without the zombie head.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'll be getting the standard season 2 so it'll look just as out of place on the shelf next to the SE Season 1.

I would love to be able to buy the UK sets but the 1st season is butchered (no pun intended) and season 2 is missing Audio Commentaries and Webisodes. But does get a UK exclusive Character Bio It's only 3 discs too.

So it's the US seasons all the way for me.

The zombie head is cool, but I'd rather not have it.

The zombie head is not extremely practical. I'd rather just have the best blu ray edition possible.
