Well I had first pre-ordered the set without the head. But I kept looking at the head set and thought how awesome will it be to own that? The head set hasn't dropped at all. I am hoping for a price drop before release day or a weekly deal on Amazon.

But ultimately, it will come down to how much I want that head. Is any head worth that amount of money? Must be some pretty great head if it is!

Ok, stupid question...I pre ordered the head at best buy awhile back for 69.99(never pre ordered at BB)..what im wondering if the price drops, will my price be adjusted automatically or will i have to pro actively do something,or am i stuck with it for that price, if that makes sense. Thanks for any and all help!

You'll have to call customer service to have the price adjusted before it ships. They simply don't follow the Amazon model unfortunately.

If you preordered online you can just cancel and reorder it. Just did it with Homeland.

The only way that will happen is if they decided to do a limited/special edition like they did with TWD season 1 and they really have 0 need to do that seeing as the head is the limited/special edition of season 2.

So you're saying that Starz/Anchor Bay wouldn't want to expand sales of the digipak to all the customers that didn't want the head, but want the digipak...basically costing them nothing as they already have it on hand.

I am having the same problem here I have the Special edition Zombie head pre ordered from Amazon but I am not sure its worth the extra $35...having trouble deciding I mean the Special edition looks cool hmmmm decisions decisions....

Just got back from my job where we got 17 of these bad boys in (We have 24 on reserve, so shipment of rest will come tomorrow or Monday), and each box is HUGE. I didn't have a tape measure or ruler for dimensions, but stores will have a very tough time displaying these on the floor, let alone more than single-digit amounts.

Lighter weight than I expected, too. Still, really looking forward to adding this to my shelf Tuesday!

I'm among the doubters. Seriously how many people do you really think that amounts to? I know there are a few here but I can't see the number of people being worth the bother to S/AB.

Obviously I can only speculate...but I do know this: Studios like to make money! A LOT of it. I also know The Walking Dead franchise is extremely hot right now. One of the hottest shows on cable TV.
Now with that said, you don't think the studio made...say...5-10% extras digipacks to sell additionally...say...around Halloween?

When you put it that way I can't argue with it, I wasn't really considering double dippers, all the previous posts saying it would happen seemed tinged with the desires of the poster and I could only think that the vast majority of the average consumer base doesn't really put 1/5 of the thought we do on the packaging of a blu-ray.

Personally I think those who want the digipack but don't want the statue are making a mistake, I think the cost difference between the editions is less then what a zombie head statue like that would individually cost and the statue could be easily sold or gifted. I'm sure everybody here knows someone who would really appreciate the gift of head.

Here's the thing: I am huge fan of UCE's, boxed set, limited editions, etc...BUT I'm not a big horror fan. I love The Walking Dead! The head is not appealing to me. Don't get me wrong, as I'm very happy for those that like it! As you mentioned, I had thought about getting it and selling/gifting the head and keeping the digipack. Only problem is I don't know anyone that is that much of a fan they would want it. So I would, most likely, have to sell it. Of course maybe I could store it with all the Halloween decorations and bring it out once a year?
Perhaps I'll add this to the price tracker and see how low Amazon dips on it, in the coming months. Maybe the digipak will become available by then, and this issue would be rendered moot for me?

I do remember that avatar, that was you? Yeah it was kind risque, but definitely cool! The mods need to develop spoiler tags for avatar pics!

I can understand that, I've only recently started collecting the big boxes myself and can understand that not everybody has the appropriate place to keep a zombie head. Strangely enough my g/f had no problem with the zombie head but said no way to the Alien set and the I Robot head. I'm sure you'll see a bargain price for the special edition in the future if you are patient enough, seems like all the big boxes hit clearance at some point.

I've seen some more explicit, I always felt that one at least required a second glance to see the stripper behind them and still only really showed some cleavage, but whatever as long as I can find a ava that looks good I'm happy, though spoiler tags for avatars is a interesting idea.
