Damn, wish I had a place for this. Very Cool and based on a Greg Nicotero design. Have a couple of kids though who would have nightmares for weeks if I put this on display ....

This won't be out until September 2012 most likely. AMC typically releases 1 month before new season.

1. That's definitely a case where the packaging is a bit too much for me. That, to me, goes straight beyond cool to "what the hell am I supposed to do with this?"

2. I got burned on buying S1 early and *then* having them put out the real set just a few months later. I think I'm going to wait until S3 starts before I think about getting S2.

Same here. I bought S1 then later they released the special edition. I think I'll wait on getting S2 on release day to see what comes later.

Someone on amazon doing a review (February 10, 2012) of the first season special edition says there is a part missing thats in the original release. Is it true ?. I have the original and its there. Check the spoiler below.

[Show spoiler]I purchased the "The Complete First Season 3-Disc Special Edition, based on the reviews here.
While watching my new purchase I was EXTREMELY DISAPOINTED while watching Ep.# 2 "Guts" in the scene where they run into the alley to grab the walker to dismember and use his guts and body parts for camouflage, that entire sequence is edited out of this supposedly complete special edition.
It shows them grabbing the walker and bringing him into the building and closing the door and the next thing you see is them walking out the door covered in the guts and parts.
The whole 3-min+ scene is gone where they talk about who he(the walker) was before and starting to chop him into pieces.
One of the most graphic scenes in the series so far and its not on the complete special edition discs!!!

Wow, it better be there or there is no way I'm buying it. I've been holding off for whatever reason, but this would make me glad that I did.

I wish the show would start putting more attention to the action in the show and less attention on ridiculous over priced special editions of Season 2. I wish they would put more attention towards the picture quality of the show and what kind of video equipment they use, then what Season 2's special edition box set looks like. I wish this show would stop failing!

Good/great zombie stories always tell the human side of things....even when the human side is as brutal as the zombies themselves.

The show is far from "failing".

I agree. Im not sure why so many people seem to dislike the second season but, to each their own.

I want this set soooo freakin bad. The only problem is that it is likely to scare the crap out of my toddler lol.

The UK release has had multiple scenes removed.

(other areas of the site are NSFW.. as you should infer from the site name)

Well seeing as S2 isn't even done airing yet, I'm sure it will be S2. As I said previously, they probably just needed to stick something in there to give it scale for the pub pics. That something was a S1 BD. Perhaps to avoid confusion, they should've clarified that with a footnote.

I agree that zombie shows need the human side but not the soap opera that it became
[Show spoiler]on the farm
. Last nights episode was pretty good so hopefully Season Two will get back on track. I dont mind the gore at all but The human element of the very first episode had me hooked from day one. I just want more of that. No more silly drama.

Yeah I doubt they would go and re-release S1 AGAIN.
