Wonder if it will keep dropping, or if it will be stable now? I'm neutral on the show. I'll continue to watch, but if it were canceled, I wouldn't care.
you do know it was up against NFL right. These numbers are very good against Sunday Night Football

If the show picks up pace and
[Show spoiler]they actually leave their own street
and provided that the competition is low then I think the ratings could very well go back up, but I'm no expert on US ratings.

I agree. Wouldn't be a loss for me if the show is canceled. But I doubt that will ever happen.

But considering The Walking Dead has beat out Sunday Night Football in the past, Fear's ratings are really low.

Fear is also in its first season, and doesn't have the nonstop zombie killing people crave. Season 2 will see some big changes, and if that doesn't work, they can just told these characters into TWD mothership anyways.

That's what I hope happens. Have a huge change over story for next season. Imagine a time jump eight months to a year into the apocalypse and have this group fighting zombies in a Las Vegas strip. Oh the possibilities.

Is that what people crave? That's very boring for me in TWD because the zombies to me offer zero threat, so the time the show spends on the characters killing zombies is just filler IMO.

Oh, but that's what Robert Kirkman wants you to think. Thinking to yourself, "zombies aren't that much of a threat" then you let your guard down. Think your characters are safe because of how badass of a zombie killer they are. Sooner or later (much later) the crap hits the fan. And you know what? Those "no threat" zombies are really the most dangerous threat to them all.

I've learned that from the comic series. After a while you tend to forget about the dangers that lurk around every corner and SURPRISE you're caught off guard.

That would defeat the purpose of the show.

Imagine this was an 8 part mini-series. Which it is in a way.

An 8 part mini series should have much higher quality writing and characterisation.

[Show spoiler]
They should pull a Zombieland moment and have the characters end up running into some Hollywood mansion to escape the zombies only to find George Romero as himself inside.

The Walking Dead has been doing time jumps before and never defeated the purpose of the show.

That NFL game on Sunday was a really good matchup though. Giants/Cowboys any time of the year is going to get big numbers and when it's on opening weekend when people are really hungry for football, it's tough to take down.

Regardless, I really think TWD has really benefited from things like streaming on netflix and all of those AMC marathons. I think FTWD will have a chance to build a very large audience but it's going to take time. It's also very hard to flesh out the characters/stories in just 6 episodes. That's why I can't compare the two shows at this point.

After the amount of time that has passed in TWD universe those along with people who insulated themselves immediately are the only people that would be left...........pretty much how it is portrayed in the show.

Yes but from what I have read here, this show is largely focused on the early days of the outbreak, something which would theoretically cover at least a couple of seasons.

Meh.

I'll keep watching, but this show doesn't feel like TWD at all. I've been rooting for the walkers since the first episode.

WOW! Episode 3 was fantastic.

The scene with them driving away from the riots, looking out over the city and the power going off.. the music, man it gave me a real old school zombie movie feeling.. like Dawn of the Dead.

Still the highest rated cable show on Sunday night by a large margin. I don't think AMC is too worried.
