Also when you factor in all the production/warehouse/distribution expenses that would be involved in yet another release of a title that most people who want it, will already have it.
I don't think it's unreasonable to think that AB/Starz made, for example 100 digipaks to go with all 50 of their head(again just arbitrary numbers) thusly leaving the other 50 to sell at a later date....ie, closer to Halloween.
Of course the diehard fans are going to gobble up the heads. But for all the fans that:
- have limited funds
- don't want the head
- like the digipak packaging
- or even missed out on the head
AB/Starz would be foolish not to offer this up. Do you mean to say that we finally encountered a studio that doens't want to dip on their product?
As I said, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I'll go with the amaray or try to score the digipak from someone that doesn't want it and maybe only wants to keep the head. So I don't mind waiting...it's not like there won't be a ton of other preorders coming my way in the next couple months. So win/win for me, just to varying degrees.

They are best watched before Season 1. It's pretty unrelated to the main story but the events are before most of the first episode.

Thanks, lol I did not think before season 1, well we are well past that so I guess we will watch before season 2 then, but thank you for the response.

I can't stop watching season 2 with my 10 year old brother.

Lori needs to be killed ASAP.

Bought the standard edition (in transit), blindly thinking it would at least be a digipack of some sort.
I want the S2 digipack to go with my S1 digipack. But I don't want the head.

Slept on it... and now... I am tempted to just simply buy the head. I guess I will only be out $30. Unfortunately, can't use the amaray as a gift, as I know nobody else who has a Region A Blu Ray player. Could always put the Amaray online and recoup some of the cost...

If Anchor Bay doesn't release the digipack by itself (which I'm guessing odds on that they will), then scoring the digipack through ebay at a later date might just be as expensive as purchasing the head today.

Don't want the head, but I guess it is a collectible and I could always sell it at a later date. Will wait until the Amaray arrives, check it out, and choose what to do then.

*Hope that AMC uses the boatload of money they are making from us fans to increase the budget of future seasons. It would only be fair to the loyal viewer and fan base. Rather than trying to save money and giving notes to Darabont like "Could you shoot indoors at least half the time" and "Can't we just hear the zombies sometimes rather than see them"

I was (still am) ticked about the re-release of season 1 with more extras months later... IF that ever hits the bargain bin (I doubt it) I'll re-buy... so for me, the season 2 w/ slipcover is fine and matches my season 1 purchase.

The digipacks/digibooks are nice and preferred by me... but not to buy a set twice or to buy a $60 version that costs twice as much just to get the head... and even if I could see the head, who is going to want that who doesn't also want the TV show? So why would they pay much to get just the head?

As for hoping the digipacks come later as a standalone... I doubt it too... considering they already have this standard packaging that is cheaper to produce.

Most DVD/Blu-ray releases go to cheaper packaging on re-issues. I get Psych on DVD, for instance... when they first come out they are in nice digipacks... within a year the re-issues are in standard keep cases.

So I have to try and catch them on Black Friday when they are on sale BUT still in the original fancier packaging.

Reading this thread reminds me how Lucasfilm screwed us over by releasing season 3 of clone wars in a keep case instead of a digi pack like the first two seasons!

why does everybody hate her? I just finished episode 6 of season 2. She's not that bad. I don't want her dead. She seems like a typical emotional mess. Does she do something worse than what she has done?

You'll hate her once you get to the season finale.

I heard that! Stood at customer service for 10 minutes, waiting for the clerks to check on the computers and in the warehouse if there were any CW Season 3 digipacks available anywhere.

I hope that Season 3 of TWD comes out in a digipack, so I can continue the digipack collection tradition... This different packaging with the Limited Edition issue has annoyed me and will cost me should I give in and get the head.

Shane is my least favorite. I want him dead! And I'm assuming something happens to him considering he's not credited for season 3

i don't understand why i would hate her?

i just finished season 2. i sat my ass down for the past 7 hours and just finished episode 5-13. i had nothing better to do.

she still seems like your typical emotional mess. i don't like her but i don't want her killed.

my heart completely dropped when they
[Show spoiler]left Andrea behind. i just didn't want to accept the chance that she wasn't going to make it out alive. i was ready to start crying. then i was hoping she'd end up back on the highway when i saw she was alive. if Andrea dies, i lose my relationship with this show. i hope she makes it back to the group in the first episode of season three. if not, i will be pissed. i need my Andrea screentime!
. she's my favorite from the show.

I just bought the head yesterday from Best Buy. Came with a $10 dollar gift card so not a bad deal at $69.99. I wasn't gonna buy the head cause I never buy special editions, but it just looked so cool sitting there on the shelf, couldn't resist.

The head is actually $59 this week at Best Buy. Go in for a price adjustment.

Nice user name!
Yeah I agree with ya. As I said, I'm in no big rush to get this. I'll keep an eye out for it, and see what happens as we get closer to Halloween, then Black Friday. I'm hopeful.
