I heard Amazon is using 3 cardboard boxes around the Walking Dead outercase to protect it. Is this true or are there other experiences here??

I'm surprised they didn't just slap a mailing label on the outercase and ship it out. Using 3 cardboard boxes sounds so unlike Amazon!

Wink An illustrated history of the search for a Season 2 digipack

I purchased the standard edition from Amazon pre-order, and got a shock when I found out it was not a digipack. (In this photo, it even looks like the size of a digipack!) Didn't want a zombie head, but I wanted the digipack

Been considering whether or not to now buy the head, 'cos I would like to have the digipack to go with my Season 1 Special Edition!
I now doubt that Anchor Bay will ever release the digipack on it's own at a later date...

So this morning (over here) I bought the Limited Edition and this digipack will be shipped (inside a zombie head) to my humble home in Aus, next week.

I am now content, as I will own both digipacks (as shown above), and therefore I can continue with my collection. Hoping Season 3 will have a Limited Edition digipack as well (but no head)...

At least now, in my BR collection, my digipacks will be shelved like this

It will be shelved next to my inferior Region B Australian Walking Dead releases...
For those who don't know, Season 1 DVD & BR's outside US/Canada had cuts to Ep 2,3,4,5 for gore & the AUS Season 2 had absolutely no extras!

*Outside the US and Canada, Season 1 viewers have missed out on the complete Walking Dead experience (that is why I bought the S1 Region A SE Blu Ray).
Here is a website with pics detailing the cuts to Season 1... http://www.movie-censorship.com/series.php?TID=5087 - *Season 1 Spoiler Alert* (of course)

**Here is a quick link to a description and pics of the cuts on S1 Episode 4, "Tell it to the Frogs"... http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=179730 *Again, S1 Episode 4 Spoiler Alert*
where a real hack job was done to the final scenes at the campsite, censoring 16 seconds... Apparently, the censorship was a transfer mistake, yet no attempt has been made to rectify the problem or release an uncut version on DVD/Blu Ray.

Apart from waiting for an Uncut Season 1 Reg B release, I am content now. Soon, I will be able to watch all the S2 deleted scenes and extras. My TWD digipack collection continues.
I just witnessed a TV advert for TWD S3, and Australia will watch it 33 hours after the U.S.. A huge improvement, considering S1 premiered in Australia Feb 2012. Now, if they could only re-release Reg B S1 Uncut...
This is Rick Grimes signing off. Be careful out there Morgan.

***Thanks to MercsOwnz, Mr. J, kryptonite1970 & sycro (in that order) for the pics.

That is the Limited Edition though, I thought everyone is saying the Regular version is not a Digipack.. I'm asking for a Photo of the Regular version, not an Amazon product image, an actual photo from someone here.

Default Bought the head, keeping the digipak and selling the rest

I bought one of only two Limited Edition Zombie Heads from the nearest Best Buy store, am keeping the digipak Blu-Ray and put the head on Ebay. I saw some other people offering JUST the head on Ebay and buyers were offering upwards of $50 (and still bidding), so I'm sure I'll recoup my $64 that I spent on it.

am i the only one that hates how the season two spine looks? how the front cover art and back cover art wraps around the spine. i just don't like it. i also don't like how thick it is. couldn't they have made it the same thin size but still keep the 4 discs? eh, i'm keeping my set inside of the head so it doesn't bother me. i'll probably move it out of the head when season 3 comes out. and season 3 better be a digipack or i will be pissed!

i don't understand why people bid on Ebay. 50 bucks for JUST the head? and the bids are still going? why not just get a brand new copy with the actual digipack for 60 on Amazon?

Ah my bad, I thought you were talking about the digipak. To the best of my knowledge I don't think anyone has posted pics of the regular amaray.
Hey if, in a couple months, they don't release the digipak by itself I'll probably get the amaray and can post pics then!

Everyone knows that the thicker it is the better! This also applies to blu-ray packaging!

I was going to buy the digipak if it came standalone, but ended up getting the standard edition with slip. I have no need for the zombie head. Don't get me wrong, it's freakin' sweet and if I had the space for it, I would have so bought it, but considering I want to keep my area strictly for BluRay and DVD, I just don't have room for these extravagant packages.

It always makes me angry (and you won't like me when I'm angry ) that studios release these packages and also throws in a nice Bluray case like this. The Avengers set is another, all I want is the plain boxset (the one in the UK). I may be forced to buy it on Amazon UK and import to Canada.

Never try and apply logic to eBay! It's like another dimension and 1+1 does not = 2 there.
