Wow...I am usually happy with Amazon but I just finished an irritating call with them.
My pre-order shipped at the 64.98 price, despite the fact that it dropped to $59.99 on the day of the release. Since their policy is to match the release day price for pre-orders, I called them to point this out and they said that the price drop never happened. I explained that I saw it, and that it is even documented here on the site. They eventually gave me the refund, but I was a little disappointed because I have never had this issue with Amazon before. I will say that, as always, the Amazon staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Did this happen to anyone else? |

I love the design of the zombie head, but if there was a complaint. It would probably be the plastic base. It's not stable enough and if you brush up against it or even try to remove the digipack. You have to make sure the zombie head doesn't slide back.

I really wanted to get the special packaging but man after seeing the pictures of the actual product I'm glad I didn't buy it. Looks atrocious compared to the product image.

Some post earlier, I posted the chronological order of the webisodes (from memory) but I was wrong... Just watched them tonight and here is the right order:
- "Webisode 3 - The Walking Dead: Domestic Violence" - "Webisode 4 - The Walking Dead: Neighborly Advice" - "Webisode 1 - The Walking Dead: A New Day" - "Webisode 2 - The Walking Dead: Family Matters" - "Webisode 5 - The Walking Dead: Step-Mother" - "Webisode 6 - The Walking Dead: Everything Dies" That way, it makes more sense. |

Hey folks, just got into the series and loved season 1 I finished it one night.
Im currently watching season 2 episode 2 and I have a feeling that the show will start to drag on without much progression story wise. Without any spoilers, does it get better? |

It really blows my mind how people complain about the show being so slow. If you are just watching for the zombies, I feel sorry for your narrow focus on what is an excellent character-based drama.
I thought season 1 was pretty solid, but it really offered nothing radically new to the plethora of zombie stories out there. Honestly, I found myself not even really caring about the zombies after a few episodes. That is why I absolutely loved and appreciated the bold choices the show made with season 2. I am far more hooked on the psychological / sociological aspects of characters dealing with a quickly deteriorating world than more and more scenes of zombies eating people. Don't get me wrong, that is fun too, but it becomes tiresome in a series format and is weightless without a serious and thoroughly well-developed dramatic foundation. Too each their own. There are Resident Evil movies coming out every year for those that want spoon-fed zombie action. Have at it, masses. |

![]() There is some action mixed in with the story development. Some great visceral scenes, where the group learns how getting the basics for living can have its difficulties and some fantastic graphic scenes, while the search continues. ![]() I never read the comic and maybe because of it, I didn't know what was coming, so in each moment I was ready for action, poised for something new to add to plot and I found that like Season 1, it was always intense. [Show spoiler] The show can't be all action (even though the last episode of Episode 2 is one of my favourites) or it would get predictable and lame. Story really does matter. A lot of fans say that Eps 8-13 were way better. It was better, but only slightly (Eps 1-7 4/5, Eps 8-13 4.5/5). The story did not move that much quicker. It did have longer action scenes but they matched the intensity some of the brief action sequences. I guess action is what most fans want (me included). But character interaction, plot development and an examination of the human condition is also a component of the great television dramas of our day eg. Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire. The Walking Dead ranks among the aforementioned shows because of it's attention to the story. Note: Each scene of any great modern drama is important, as scenes that seem like they don't push the story along are actually set ups for pay-offs later on. Walking Dead does this well. As to the speed of the story, in fact, some of the later episodes (9-11), IMHO laboured fractionally. Despite the start to 9 and the end to 11, again you have a lot of storytelling, dialogue and character development. Yet, the interaction was very important to the upcoming events! And fascinating to see how each person reacts to the situations they find themselves in. ![]() So, to answer your question about sticking with Episode 2, Yes... Keep watching Episode 2. Meeting the new characters are important and seeing how the group develops is all important. And above all, it has a cool, action driven, cliffhanger ending. Episode 3 also has a great ending. Episode 4 has some neat zombie interaction as well, etc., etc. If you skip through episodes of the show, you may miss something, and overall you might regret missing "The Walking Dead" itself. Stick with it dude. Watch every episode. Yes, Season 1 was exceptional. And Season 2 is excellent. Can't wait for Season 3 (only 6 weeks to go). |

I thought Season 1 was very subpar after the pilot, only really enjoying that episode and the finale.
Now I just finished episode 8 of Season 2 and I am really enjoying it so far. Much more than I did with Season 1. The character interactions are what I really watch shows for. Not just action (it is good on this show, though), so it being slow early on hasn't bothered me at all. |

You think I enjoy mass zombie massacre from what I asked? Did I say "The show is getting stale... What happened to BAM POW HEADS BLOWN OFF!!???" I started off The Walking Dead by playing Telltale's video game version, and if you have played it, the character development and the tension between the group is just what I loved. You had to make some hard decisions in that game its just incredible what Telltale has done. I just finished episode 6 and it still bothers me that the setting has not changed at all!! I mean the first season was spanned out with six episodes and it was like a thrill ride from the start to the end. The tension between the group existed, they knew they had to refuge to a different location, and some characters were killed. I just finished episode 6 season 2 and what has changed from the end of episode 1 in terms of their main objective? Find Sophia. And by the end of episode 6 it still hasn't concluded. The series hasn't focused on her at all from the first season that I barely cared for the character in the first place. The group no longer feels threatened after finding Hershel's farm, therefore the tension is almost nonexistant, they have no motivation to move on so for 6 episodes, we're seeing the exact same place. For Season 2 so far, it feels like I'm watching Lost Season 1, which is a great season but The Walking Dead should not turtle over 6 episodes in one spot. |
