Good question. I can't be certain, but I thought she was watching different movies/shows? Wasn't one B&W and the other in color?

Well, if this kid goes full serial killer, we may have one more interesting character on our hands. haha Season 2's picking up a lot over season 1, though if the level of participation in this thread is any indication, a lot of people aren't stick around.

Odd, though, that season 1 did that "13 weeks later" jump skipping over a lot of the inception of the zombie apocalypse, the very thing the series promised to show us. Now in Mexico, it seems like they're doing better handling things, so it might almost be like they're going back to that "13 weeks later" period, albeit not literally.

Actually, I'm interested in peoples' opinion of the show, positive or negative. Please stop discouraging members from participating.

They're lazily ripping off The Walking Dead season 2, so any "let this show be it's own thing" comments are wholly invalid.
Yeah, unfortunately I agree. They're spinning their wheels way too similarly. I was hoping they'd be far more creative and boldly do new things / have new angles. But so far it's been all too familiar.

Ok, anybody recognize these descriptions?

The first movie was an older black and white one, when she was with Nick. A man and a woman are talking, with another man eavesdropping. The dialogue starts with the lady saying, "...the devil!" "Oh look, you're not being diplomatic at all. I think I've run into a, uh, contact here." "You've certainly run into something, that's for sure." Some dogs start barking, and they say something about the dogs running loose in the yard. Then she tells him to ring a doorbell, and he says, "it looks like a costume party in there, why spoil their evening?" And she goes, "Ring. The bell."

Then, when Madison walks in, it's some 60s color movie with kids in bathing suits dancing to "Twist, all night long" by a pool, with the band playing on... a diving board ladder maybe?

Both scenes played further along in the background as the characters talked, but that's all I could make out.

I guess if you pull the focus back far enough any sequel in the history of motion pictures could be labeled as similar.
Fear, up until now, was on a boat used to transport the group around....oh yeah TWD had salvaged automobiles that transported them around.
Fear has a group battling zombies, wow...so does TWD.
Rocky: guy trains to fight other guy.
Jaws: shark terrorizes people
F13, Fast/Furious, Alien...yep all the same!

Just so I understand, folks on a farm in Atlanta have the means to capture loved ones that have turned, just like folks on a farm in Mexico can? Sounds to me like people that are too sad to let loved ones go! In other words human nature can(and does apparently) exist in various parts of the world.
Also we have the total collapse of society and people can't get warped by it? I can see that happening in different areas of the world as well.

Yeah, I really don't understand the argument that Fear is similar to TWD. It should be similar to TWD because it takes place in the same universe. There are enough differences between both shows to make Fear a show that can stand on it's own two feet.

But to take a step back for a second, why is it ok to have countless cop shows, lawyer shows, medical dramas on tv but not two zombie shows set in the same universe? If we really followed the "make something original that we have never seen before" rule, we'd have absolutely nothing to watch on tv.

I didn't instruct you, I asked you (note the use of the word "please"), but if you're being sincere, then thank you, sincerely.

I haven't been feeling like Fear is too close to TWD before, but the similarity in "for season 2, we've found a safe haven farmland where the friendly owners are secretly rounding their dead loved ones up and feeding them" was hard not to notice.

Finally a good episode. Woohoo! It only took 1 and a half seasons to get there!

I wonder if they decided to turn this annoying brat Chris into the shows Michael Myers after they realized what a dud character he was, or if they planned it all along? If it was a way to deal with his dud character then it was a good decision - he was basically this pathetic annoying millennial nuff nuff, just the sort of person who would turn psycho in a crisis - so GOOD MOVE FTWD!

Madison the bleach blonde biatch continues to be the woman we love to hate! Not sure that is the shows intentions?

Good dynamic being created with her and Travis with the psycho nuff nuff son. Lots of potential there.

I give this episode a 7.5 out of 10. I would have given it an 8.5 but for it's lack of originality stealing from TWD.

Last two episodes have been great, interesting to see what they have done with Chris's character, wonder how much longer he'll be around. Looking forward to next week! Anyone know when the second half of the season will air?

Mid-August would be my guess. There are 8 episodes in the second half so you can count back 8 weeks from when TWD typically starts. I'm thinking it will be back August 14th.

Did they really just
[Show spoiler]kill off Salazar like that? He is/was my favorite character. I couldn't help but be reminded of Glenn and the dumpster.

I don't think so.
[Show spoiler]They showed the fire running between his legs and that's it. TV has become predictable almost, If they don't show the character actually die and make it a very somber moment, 9 out of 10 times they reappear. This was just a mid-season try of a cliffhanger to get people talking and wanting to come back to the show to see what happens.

I've really been giving this show a chance, watching every episode and really wanting to sink into the characters and the story-line. But I'm having a slightly hard time doing so. Last nights mid-season finale was alright, and it's basically how I've been feeling about this show the whole time. I really wish they would just kill off
[Show spoiler]Chris and Madison. I know it won't happen but those two characters are my least favorite in the show. Madison especially !!

I'll still continue to watch this show with fingers crossed that one day I'll get that feeling of anticipation for the next episode like it's an event.

This. This show isn't as bad as it used to be; however after the mid-season finale I found myself asking, with so much on TV, why should I continue to watch essentially the same show twice?
