This makes no sense. Lost had plenty of action. Would you call that show a video game?

And that is only one example. I could list many more.

When I say video game, I mean killing for the sake of killing. Any shoot 'em up video game can supply that.
IMO, the show(and source material) has had a perfect blend of great story telling, mixed in with the occassional zombie fight.

Since it's in LA, wouldn't there be more zombies that leads to more action? I don't care about action but it would seem odd to not have the population LA has. I'm excited for this since it may have a lot of groups and zombies.

LA has THIRTY THREE ZIP codes.

LA has SEVEN area codes.

The combined metro area population is 18,351,929

There is the potential for some epic HERDS.

I'm assuming this summer, maybe when the regular series concludes in a few weeks?

Supposed to air in the late summer with 6 episodes with Season 2 coming in 2016

1st season will probably end right before S6 begins

Lol I think the last time you played video games was in the SNES era. Hell, the last of us story and killings beats twd story telling from scenery to script.

Since this is early on in the apocalypse, the zombies are fresher, so they're The Speedwalking Dead.

Interesting. So is this supposed to take place before the full outbreak?

I thought I read somewhere that it will be partly flashback and not all at the beginning.

Kirkman Says "Fear" Is A Companion, Not Prequel to "The Walking Dead"

Quote:
With its August premiere fast approaching, more and more information about the "Walking Dead" prequel "Fear the Walking Dead" is being revealed -- like the fact that it is not a prequel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Robert Kirkman clarified the time frame depicted in the new AMC series, saying that while it will initially take place in the early days of the zombie outbreak, it will eventually overlap with the early seasons of "The Walking Dead" -- therefore shaking off its prequel status.

“I will say that [the show] will definitely progress,” said Kirkman. “I will say that I don’t consider this show to be a prequel to 'The Walking Dead,' because there will be a point where a certain episode of this show will line up with season 2 of 'The Walking Dead,' and a certain episode of this show will line up with season 3 of 'The Walking Dead.' So we will be progressing through time to the point that we do pass the initial days of the outbreak. But how fast it is that we get there? That’s just going to have to remain a mystery.”

AMC has already given the series a two season order, meaning that viewers may eventually see how the LA-based "Fear" synchs up with the Atlanta-set "Walking Dead." Before that happens, however, viewers will get to see a show set in pre-apocalypse times, as revealed in the series' first photos.

“We’re very early [in the outbreak],” Kirkman told EW. “But if you think about the way a zombie outbreak would happen, it would happen very organically. It would be happening for a while behind the scenes. In pockets of civilization, there would be news stories that didn’t really make sense and didn’t seem connected. And that’s kind of where we pick things up. There are a lot of things on the news, there’s a lot of chatter and paranoia and concern. And yet the vast majority of the population is ignoring these things and talking about their daily lives, and that’s kind of where we pick things up. And things ramp up very quickly from there.”

"Fear the Walking Dead" debuts this August on AMC.
