For Christ's sake. No, I watch them through a PS3 on my monitor. No PC is involved for Blu-ray or for Netflix. Address my argument about convenience instead of mentioning irrelevancies.
Here's a pro-tip: quote posts you're addressing. |

There goes that word again. 'Convenience'. It is not convenient for me to watch artefact laden, third rate hd quality when i could be watching bluray.
I don't think your opinion is worthless, but i don't see how you can join a argument about quality when you do not have the tools at your disposal to make such a call. |

Also note that I will never own a home theater because it's a massive waste of money for something so unimportant. |

This forum has strong views and some of us occasionally overstep the mark. However, we are all adults and can take it. You have overstepped the line and made a personal attack rather than an attack on my tastes or preferences. You have no right to do that.
See, there are some of us that adore film. It is a huge passion in our life. Just as family, friends and wildlife/nature is a big part of my life. (but obviously more important) That is why we are on this forum. We adore film and we adore a format that lets us experience such superb quality in our own homes. Now calm down and i will discuss the matter further, if you are going to get too personal i will ignore your future posts. |

Making a statement about 'near flawless' quality when watching on a monitor simply does not make sense. no matter how wound up you get over it. I am simply stating a fact. It is like saying 'well it looks great on my black and white portable'. The discussion was about projectors and large screens not monitors. |

Well, don't you think you have that coming SD? You've stepped over the line more times than anyone in this and several other threads in the forum. The more you talk the more you come off as a over privileged kid and, or a spoiled adult. While you are free to buy every BD released, some of us don't see the need. As others have pointed out, there are some great movies/series out there that may never get the BD treatment. Not to mention I don't see the need to have every BD out there. Which is why I use Netflix to watch the BD's I'm on the fence about or don't want to own. For streaming I use it mainly to catch up on shows, movies and PBS shows for my toddler. Clearly there is a niche that Netflix is filling. So it doesn't matter if you and others feel it is inferior or not. They aren't going anywhere soon. Regardless, you and some others have made your point. If you are so confident in your arguments, why do you keep beating it into the ground? Doesn't speak for your cause when you have to keep doing that in multiple threads

You have painted a picture of someone who has joined a bluray forum and then slates people for defending the format and informing people of facts. Facts they cannot handle. Oh, and it takes a lot more than patronizing smilies to wind me up. Nice try though!

+1 I haven't been a Netflix subscriber for over a year, and now most likely won't go back. From what I've heard, the availability on titles is not very good (Blu-ray rentals that is).

Now, the big screen issue is really funny, because people who own them fall into the marketing ploy that big is better, even though pixels are larger and more problems are evident. I can only imagine how bad Black Swan looks on a 60" screen with all of the grain due to the camera used. It looks disgusting on my 25.5" screen! |

Grain is a part of film. If the film looks rough, that is what the director intended. If it looks like the director intended that is exactly what bluray fans want. Every film has its own beauty no matter how it was shot. As long as the grain is handled correctly the picture quality will shine. Moaning about grain proves that you know very little about the art of film. Now please don't fly off the handle, but you really are robbing yourself of the beauty of bluray on a 25 inch monitor.
