Where did you hear Netflix was putting all their money into streaming? That would mean the disc service would immediately disappear due to a total lack of funding!
Netflix HD is not something to marvel at.

Uh, most. Feel better? I can only hope that would put it all in Streaming. The selection would be that much better. And if you aren't watching NetFlix on the PS3, you aren't getting its highest quality.

This is a very wild and inaccurate speculation. Do you have a source to add some credibility to your speculation?

I have watched several movies via stream on the PS3...I prefer their blu-rays any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

Fact is they pay more for streaming than buying discs. Period.

Netflix CEO: ‘We Are Now a Streaming Company’

Quote:
In Q4, we’ll spend more on streaming content than DVD content, and we’ll deliver many more hours of entertainment via streaming than on DVD. More impressively, a majority of our subs will watch more content streamed from Netflix than delivered by us on DVD. DVD-by-mail shipments are still growing, but streaming for us is much larger and growing much faster.

Really? Naw, you are kidding right? You seem to miss the point. You own 500 BDs. NetFlix's streaming library is 51,000 movies and TV shows. Can you afford all the titles they have on BD? I can't and not only that, I don't want to have to store them. But to watch them, I won't die if they aren't BD quality, especially if its on my phone and also some are in HD that are not available on BD. So if you'd rather watch SD than HD, that is truly confusing. One thing is for sure, their quality continues to get better.

What they pay more for and how they choose to label themselves does not in any way prove what you wrote, which was wildly inaccurate.

You are wildly inaccurate, I corrected that statement and you posted not one, but two posts calling me "wildly" inaccurate. Don't you have a review to do or something?

Comments like that is exactly why everyone jumps on you in these forums, and because of it you waste half your life arguing with people on here. The bottom line is you have a different opinion, we accept it, but you seem to find it hard to accept other peoples opinions who think differently too you, and often you sound like a preaching overly committed religious nut who stands on the street thinking their doing god's work by trying to convert everyone to their beliefs.

You might be happy with having 51,000 movies available to you via streaming, but other people don't care about that for lots of different reasons. So since we are all different and value different things, then why bother going on a crusade all the time like it's your duty to try to convince people that your views are the right one's, especially as it's just falling on deaf ears around here as this website is called Blu-ray.com after all.

Please. First off, you are in AUSTRALIA. You're being in a NetFlix thread, a service not offered in your country, means you are carrying your agenda against streaming far and wide. You do realize that more people stream NetFlix than live in your country??? Well, almost. I think it was 20 million last they had a graphic out. Still, the point is, what are you doing in a thread for a service you couldn't get without moving half way around the world and have the gall to say that I am "preaching".

I understand that but regardless there is still no need to say things like this to people "Really? Naw, you are kidding right? You seem to miss the point. You own 500 BDs. NetFlix's streaming library is 51,000 movies and TV shows.", and carry on the way you do. It's like you get surprised and shocked at other peoples reaction and opinions to streaming when ultimately this is a blu-ray website and this is just 1 small thread amongst it, but you shouldn't expect anything less as 90% of members are going to be biased siding with blu-ray as that's what most members are here for. You're fighting a losing battle when it comes to this website, you'd be better of posting this stuff at another website that isn't dedicated to blu-rays, what you say might be more accepted there by a lot more people and by doing so you would save yourself a lot of time not getting in long wined disagreements with almost everyone, make sense?

You think? Its like me saying that movies at the theater are better quality than on BD and I would take them any day over BD. Pretty much what he said. And no one said that NetFlix HD was BD quality, but its better than DVD quality. And you do realize that there are only like 20k subs to this forum. You would think, the way people talk about how popular BDs vs streaming, there would be 60 million on here. Instead, its you and a couple others that are real stalwarts, just totally, irrationally, against all things streaming.

I am surprised that you have opinions on something 8,000 miles from where you live, like it effects your very being. Its like you have actually seen it, but you haven't. Its like you can actually buy it, but you can't. And when its pointed out, you write, I know all that, but here is what is wrong with you. Amazing.

If you are aware that this website is a website is mainly made of members who favor blu-ray, then ask you again, why bother with going on and on all the time?

Also, If you look at the statistics of how many members are in what section, then you will see that the American and Canadian blu-ray movie section always has the most, and a lot of those members don't ever venture out of there, so the majority wouldn't even see what you have written to argue back. Or maybe a lot of people who see your comments just can't be bothered replying? cause they can see where it gets them, in a long winded discussion.

It's not about whether we have Netflix here in Australia or not, I'm talking about your attitude towards people here on this website (again which just happens to be a blu-ray website)! Besides I can go back through this thread and find multiple comments you have made about Australia and our infrastructure which are way off!

What's the name of this thread? Its incorrectly called NetFlix Turns Focus Back To Disc. No...they didn't.

And why are you going on and on all the time?

Yes but what's this website called? just because the thread has Netflix in the title really means nothing. What don't you expect the majority of members here who favour blu-ray to make a comment in a thread which has netflix in the title, especially when some goon keeps harping on about streaming all the time, and has a go at everyone who says they prefer blu-ray over streaming? This website isn't called netflix or streaming.com is it? It's called blu-ray.com!

Its not called Blu-ray, the one, the ONLY. There are games and music, etc. forums on here too. And now, GASP, they list DVDs! You do know what the website is for? You think its for people to talk about Blu-rays? Really? This website is here so that people will visit, click on one of the Amazon links and the owners get a referral fee. Pure and simple. And many that have BD, stream media. Its not the one exclusive to the other you and a few others make it out to be.

You're right, this site is about more than blu-ray but blu-ray is the main focus to most here. You seemed to have missed my point, my point was that this website is made up of the mostly members who are here for blu-ray, but yet you keep wondering why everyone disagrees with you about streaming? You're on the wrong website if you want to preach streaming, and you will forever be involved in long pointless arguments on this website until you learn that!

Edit: You seem like a smart guy (when you're not preaching the benefits of streaming to people who don't care that is) who has a lot of knowledge about this kind of stuff, so instead of wasting your time arguing with everyone forcing your opinions on them, why don't you put that knowledge to good use and use your time here to help people and give them advice when they need it. Does it really matter that not everyone sees streaming the way you do or will never be interested in it to the same extent as you?
