Exactly. The smaller the screen, the better the picture.

Is that because we cannot see the compression artefact's?

More people would rather have an internet enabled tv than 3D. You can watch stunning movies on smaller displays and on 2D. Guess what? Still looks stunning.

Again. You confuse streaming in its current form for what it is, a replacement for TV services, not BD. Get that through your head! Do you NOT WATCH TV? I bought 2 BDs today because I liked what I saw on NetFlix.

I have to ask, do you get panic attacks?

I hated Avatar in 3D at the theater. I much preferred it in 2D on my own home theater. I found that the 3D effects distracted me from the story rather than pulling me more into it.

Maybe your problem is that you are spending too much time examining the minutia of picture quality and sound quality and effects and so on... and not spending enough time just getting lost in the story that is being told.

I get that feeling too. He's losing sight of the forest by concentrating on the trees. I also sense an insecurity about the fate of BD. Irrational to think that streaming, in its current form, is going to replace BD just like TV and DVRs haven't and that even if it did, that worrying and obsessing about it could change it.

If I am interested enough in what I stream, I will buy the BD. I, and tens of millions of others, don't need to only watch content in BD, especially since so much isn't even in BD. And NetFlix streams DD+ not 2.0. HUGE difference. And you have no right to dictate what kind of player anyone needs to own. That would be like me saying you have no right to subscribe to any TV services since you only watch your 2 rented BDs at a time.
I totally understand where you're coming from. You are a person that values convenience over quality. I am not one of those people, which is why I don't do the following: Listen to MP3s, watch DVDs (unless that's all that's available), utilize streaming (especially when it's available on disc), or watch SD programming on my satellite (all of my favorite shows are in HD anyway).

Perhaps people who use streaming also value content. There are tons of great indie movies on Netflix that will NEVER be on BD.... and are difficult, expensive and or impossible to get on DVD. Same goes for some SD channels. Ever see a Mash marathon on an HD channel. PQ/AQ elitists miss out on a lot of high quality entertainment.

3D and internet enabled are not mutually exclusive terms. I have had a wifi connected 3D TV for well over a year now. 3D streaming movies are available from VUDU and PSN. Those are the two I use. There are probably other internet sources as well. http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&key...internet+ready

Those articles are misleading. The only conclusion you can draw from them is that more 2D tvs are sold than 3d. Not a surprise, however, the trend in 3D TV sales is clearly positive: http://news.yahoo.com/3d-television-...033206486.html

I'd rather pay $30 a season for a TV show on DVD than attempt to watch it with questionable PQ/AQ using streaming. That's just me though. if I want a film, TV show, animation, etc. then I am going to watch it on the best medium possible which looks like this: Blu-ray>DVD>sat/cab>streaming. DVD and sat/cab can swap ranks sometimes depending on the quality of the DVD and your upconversion.

Last night, just for giggles, I compared The Daily Show on Dish Network to watching it on Hulu+, and the internet streaming feed was better! This was on the same TV FYI. However, that may be more of a condemnation of Dish's HD quality than an endorsement of internet streaming.

I value both. Its January 12, I've increased my Blu-ray collection by 5% already this year.

And your watching your shows in HD Satellite is convenience over quality since you aren't waiting for them to be on Blu-ray.

Good luck telling that to someone with a biased mindset. They don't realize that NetFlix is increasing the quality of their product on a continual basis, something that providers like Dish only do rarely when they make major equipment changes.

Yes, more TVs are being sold that are 3D. 2 years ago the number sold was 0. So any number sold is more than in 2009 when they weren't offered. But consumers are choosing the ones with internet connectivity over them. And sure, you can buy TVs with both. But people are buying the ones with internet over 3D, it could just as easily be the other way around now couldn't it? But its not. And don't mention 3D streaming. That is too much for the anti-streamers to handle because that would mean, gasp, that companies that are streaming are improving their product!

I've also seen websites with surveys including ones at AVS forums on the subject. Have yet to see one where 3D wins.

Most can only stand 3D for a short time, others see it as a fad, something being pushed on consumers by the industry so they can increase the price point that has slid to low profit margins.

Why would I want to watch Storage Wars, Hoarders, or American Pickers more than once for each episode? It just so happens that the shows I like on satellite have no repeat value.

But, gasp, you aren't watching on Blu-ray! Why would you watch them on 1080i, when you could wait and see them in 1080p on Blu-ray??? Is it because its inconvenient to wait for them to be released on Blu-ray before watching them? That means you also put convenience over quality, your statement you made about me. Your argument against streaming is absurd especially since respected technology websites such as CNET have said that NetFlix HD 1080p is at least as good looking as satellite. It sounds like, when you want to slip and watch something less then BD quality its OK, but if others do it, they don't care about quality. Not the case at all. If NetFlix looked like YouTube, I'd never subscribe.

Just like you missed mine. NetFlix isn't a replacement of BD, its a replacement for TV services. And the quality rivals that of satellite as attested to by those who earn their living writing on technology.
