Yes, there is a playback setting. Put it on high. That puts you at their 3GB/hour rate. BTW, I have Dish network. When transferring 1 hour HD shows to my external HDD, 1 hour shows from cable HD run 1.7 GB, 1 hr of local network from Dish is 1.9GM and OTA is 5.7 GB. Of course its also 1080i, not 1080p. But for 1/3 more to nearly double the data rate of Dish Network, that's excellent. And I don't see issues with PQ.

It will be interesting to see how Netflix deals with:

Appeals Court Strikes Down Net Neutrality

Quote:
Ruling could be a blow to SVOD services such as Netflix, which depend on third-party ISPs delivering their streams

A U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Jan. 14 has ruled against the Federal Communications Commission’s efforts to afford Internet traffic equal status — a policy known as net neutrality.
Maybe they will show a little more love of their by mail business.

Their stock is down $17 at the moment because of it. Investors panic so quickly.

This is a hammer blow for streaming and cord cutters, no doubt about it IMO.

If you knew why the pic was posted, you'd know why I was cringing.
Here's a hint: You don't understand what Mifunefan was saying, based on your original reply to him.

He is suggesting my statement will prove to be hideously wrong. Unless I have missed something? How is my reply suggesting I don't understand that? I just asked the poster to explain why potentially higher prices for streaming services isn't a blow for people wanting to get rid of cable services in favour of all you can eat subscription options?

Clearly you are confused.
The picture epitomizes "jumping the gun". Stating something too early that isn't true. Like you saying "this is a hammer blow for streamers and cord cutters". Which it is not.
You constantly asking about this, is only showing how much that picture flew right over your head.

Yep, like I said before, what in my post gave you the impression I didn't understand. I was simply asking him how he thought that wouldn't be the case. I made a statement and by posting that picture the poster , in my opinion, implied is was wrong and streamers won't be affected long term by this. Have you guys got crystal balls?

Rick, I suggest we avoid each other on these forums? Things are sweet when we do. I won't reply to your posts and vice versa. I'm not getting involved in (in my opinion) some tag team, back patting or (also in my opinion) over the top smileys.

That's rich coming from someone saying this will be the hammer blow for streaming. This is nowhere near the end. There will be appeals, new rules formed, etc..The new ruling actually re-affirmed the FCC's power to regulate the Internet, so Internet providers still have a huge hill to climb in order to remove net neutrality. The FCC has many options now. They could re-classify ISP's as common carriers, or create new rules specifically for the Internet which would keep net neutrality perfectly safe. Also keep in mind the fact that many ISP's have even pledged to keep Internet use fair to all consumers, with Comcast going a step further and vowing not to do anything for 7 years, even if rulings were in their favor.

Ultimately though, streaming won't meet any hammer blow because of this. Perhaps it might mean slightly higher fees, but services will adapt. If not Netflix, than some other service. Streaming won't be killed off that easily.

Why couldn't you just reply like this in the first place rather than post (in my opinion) mocking pictures? I strongly feel streaming will be affected, you strongly oppose that view. Fair enough.

Because it was way funnier, and summed up my feelings about your post perfectly. Plus, all the information I provided could be easily obtained with a simple google search.
