Cartier is hosting.

Are you registered over at the Clan forum? Please do so, if you haven't since all of our specific info is over there, including the room name and password.

I don't think he's hosted before, so I don't know what to expect as far as connectivity.

"joooo" is the variable for "you." Slang, it would seem, escapes you.

Very disappointed in your comprehension skills, thymbol.

Posted one more time for new page:

Only two spots left.

Alright, well an update to the Clan invites - two did not work. There is a glitch (mentioned in the booster pack update) where invites are sent out and people never accept - those invites get stuck. The new update will allow those invites to be re-tracted - until then, I can not add any new members. However, I am in the process of deleting members who no longer play, so spots may open up soon. I apologize for the inconvenience, but my hands are tied until this glitch is fixed. (Expected on 28 Aug.)

For new Blu-Clan members, if you visit the Blu-Clan website you'll see the latest Clan Battle and what's being planned. I'll post it here this time, just to give you an idea of some of the things we're up to these days.

Warhawk Blu-Clan Battle - 23 Aug 2pm EST (USA) Training/Gameplay

Game start - 155PM
  1. Death Match - Badlands - Fortress - 10 minutes. Allows everyone to spawn. Take this time to set flight controls to "Pro-Flight" for upcoming flight training.
  2. Death Match/Dogfight - any map - 10 minutes. Everyone pairs up in groups of 2-3. Practice missle evasion, Warhawk powerslides, releasing bomblets at oncoming aircraft. Jon D and Seboist will give pointers and explain controls.
  3. Collection - Archepalegio - Close Corridors - 15 minutes. This map is fast and furious with 3 levels and nowhere to run but into each other. This map forces players to utilize grenades and knives more than any other map and encourages using tactics such as ladder kills and battling on higher ground.
  4. CTF - Island Outpost - Entire Map - 20 minutes - Regular gameplay - CYMBOL will talk about mine placement and reveal his super secret path right after a flag cap that has always let him get out of the base unscathed!"
  5. Team Death Match - Archepalegio - Acropolis Assualt - 15 minutes - Hold on - there will be a variation of gameplay to enhance training. Only weapons allowed to use are knives, grenades, mines jeeps/jeep guns, and sniper rifles (you can use Warhawks to "get around" but no weapons). Our professional snipers will give all us struggling snipers some tips. We may even have some folks volunteer to run in circles at the center base towards the end of the game to give us all some practice.
  6. CTF - Eudadia - Entire Map - 20 minutes - DON'T BE FOOLED by the game type. This map has some special maneuvers. We'll be taking over the board so we have access to the planes - then eveyone will meet on one side and practice one of the Holy Grails of Warhawk moves - dive bombing and knocking a jeep or tank of the bridge as it's crossing. People will take turns driving and flying. Before the map time is up - we will line up for a team picture. Everyone will grab their favorite weapon - we'll have flyers hover, tanks and jeeps etc. We'll have a few people kneeling in front and the flag in the background. (the location for this may change depending on Jafo's camera needs.)
  7. Hero - map of host's choosing - 20 minutes - last game of the day.

Game play will be:
  • Unranked
  • Open Mic
  • Team Switching Allowed
  • Randomize Teams at the end of each game
  • 20% Friendly Fire
Remember to charge your mics and your controllers. See you all in the game!

Tried to join Caliblue and Idealsupra last night in Warhawk - but you guys were in the rookie rooms.

Why does everybody hide from me in the rookie rooms? One of the many times in my life where being an over achiever has backfired.

Maybe the sarcasm isn't original - doesn't change the fact that it is still sarcasm.

I have tried, but usually the room will is full. Also, just because the room doesn't say "rookie" doesn't mean they haven't set rank limits. You'd be surprised how many times I see someone on a non-official server - but I can't get in cause it says - "rank-limited room". Don't worry, one day you'll see those kind of messages too.

I joined Cymbol last night for a few rounds. (Figured I would go with the drinking analogy since the room was named after a beer).

I am not sure I have ever been knifed so many times in one night. It was crazy battles (the ones were you are running around trying to dodge missiles, gunfire, grenades, warhawk debris falling from the sky, Tow missiles, cluster bombs...all in about 30 seconds), unfortunately the one collection game got lopsided. I didn't think we were that much better. Having twice as many players tends to help.

The first game you guys had the flyers (I got in a plane a couple of times cause no else would - but if I'm getting in a plane, things are bad). Mainly I got in the plane to keep it out of the really good flyers you guys had.

The Collection game was like many others games I've experienced - I would be waiting with my cores, and I would throw it at some other guy coming with his core, and he would score the one. Once we started really doing badly, as usual I checked how many players we had and of course, everyone but 6 players were left. We had a couple of more people join in the last minute - too little too late.

That Collection map is the one I have slotted for our Clan battle. It is hectic, but it makes you use your grenades and knife A LOT! And helps you realize, just how advantageous having the high ground can be. I think it's a great place to work on close, ground combat.

I personally find it fun. It will be more fun playing with Clan members though.

I hosted a few games when you were deployed but not for this many. If you can help get out the message to pause downloads while playing and that includes anything running on computers that share the same internet connection as a PS3 that would be great, as these activities usually account for higher pings and thus slower connections and a possible server crash.

I thought that too, but apparently some people, not on this forum, have made comments so I figured it is better to be safe and make it clear. The same goes for computers or anything else on your network that is doing something online it slows everything down. So if possible limit other online activities. For you married members try the "Sorry, honey you can't go online because I'm playing Warhawk and need the bandwidth". I am sure they will understand.

Hahaha sorry. I still suck so Rookie servers for me for awhile haha.

I now have about 800 points. So almost to 1250 for my next rank of sergeant.

My goal is to complete all of the Bandit Badges and get 2500 points for rank of LT Sergeant by the time the patch drops.

Considering I put up about 600 pts in about 5 hours of play the past two nights I would say I should be able to do that.

Im getting better in the Warhawks (READ: I dont die right away anymore lol), but Im sure theres things Im still missing etc. Ill figure them out

We'll mention it as people join the game and I'll post it in the message board.

If we have problems we'll just kick the people who are killing me the most.

Basically, you learn by playing - and dying.

Sometimes, when a person kills you, you think - "Man, that was pretty frikkin' clever the way he drove that jeep up on the fortress and basically created a mounted machine gun to destroy tanks as they came in" or, "Oh cr@p, I didn't even know snipers could get up there." or, "I didn't know you could put mines on the ceiling!"

The more you play the more strategies you find.

One of my personal favorites. Although you still find some of the most out of the way, unusual spots to mine.

I kept blowing up the miners last night from a warhawk. They would lay a mine down and Id shoot it. Too much fun.

I've recently found for the sole purpose of capturing a zone if you mine your own plane fly over and park it a bit to the side of the zone pole the enemy is likely to try and jump in rather than do a ground fight. They immediately go kaboom. Rinse and repeat, laugh if you'd like.

The only down side is if you get caught in a dogfight and get hit near the mine with a swarm missle, etc... you're a goner.

But it has been effective lately in defending myself while capturing zones.
