Considering 90% of the people don't even play, I don't think you need to worry about being accepted.

The other 10%, save myself, play very mildly at best. So, it's an ultra-casual clan.

It's a good place to start.

You don't have to try out, just be a member of the blu-ray.com forums. Send a PM to Colorado Blu Skies telling him you want to join the Blu clan and give him your PSN ID. When he gets a chance he will add you to the clan registry. Then you just have to check under the community tab in Warhawk and then the messages section and you can accept or reject the invite.

I think it is more of a timing thing, but yeah.

:- I still want to fly with some of yall, perhaps in the future.

I would like to ask a free question to those who care, how often do you feel dropships are properly used?

How often do you feel like one person grabs its and uses it as a personal jeep.

I haven't had much experience with it yet. I only got it once and we flew all the way around on the outside so nobody noticed and we were gonna try and sneak up from behind and take the flag, but idk, the guy got scared or something and left me stuck on top of the building somehow and I wasn't able to get out. It said dismount prohibited and stuff and then somebody blew me up.

they are used all the time in the OD maps, and yes id say 90% of the time its only one person who takes it.

@ Co Blu Skies

I think we need to filter out the blu clan reg, theres just a whole lot of people that dont play anymore, put a message on the board and tell people to PM you or something that they want to stay in the clan. Give it like 2 weeks or something then delete those you dont reply.

Ive managed to have the pleasure to serve under some great dropship pilots as a turret guy, some using low level tactics, I discovered my skill as pilot left much to be desired, thankfully im smart enough that before she blows I get everyone to the ground and yell evac...

I noticed the most effective was a low level hit and run tatics with constant runs for health we kept a dropship up and running for a full match without losing one, it gave full aerial domination..

Then I did notice some matches where one guy flys off with it... and I would be hey let me give you hand xyz.. xyz would keep flying ignoring me...

I just played in a couple of matches, and one of them had the dropship; same thing happens, a guy takes off with it, nobody on board, and dies.

Guess he just wanted a quick way across the map and there were not Warhawks around.

Actually, you get the BLU clan tag only after you accept the invite from Colorado.

Nope.

I'm online a ton and I look to see who is playing. About 90% don't even log in.

I don't care, because I can just leave or play with whoever. Just pointing out that this isn't a clan with all sorts of regulations and stuff.

I don't play OD ever, but when I did it wasn't used as intended. It's not the best concept for CTF anyway.

If you see a dropship coming, just prepare for multiple enemies. At least a Warhawk can fly around, stealth, drop someone off and that person stands a shot at sneaking around.

Or you can get a few guys in a jeep and be off the radar unless spotted. You have greater mobility too.

I imagine that it has greater use in TDM or something.

I figure it isn't necessary to do so yet... if and when it becomes an issue of adding somebody new to the clan but I am unable to do so due to clan size restrictions I will take the appropriate action... I have noticed that there are a few members that haven't played since Sept or Oct. What's the max size any way?

Agreed... I hardly ever use the dropship. I like the level though.

Obviously, this is just a clever ruse by Vektar to get me out of the clan cause he fears me! He knows I can't reply and it gets rid of one of his competition! Don't fall for it Colorado!

Post 700!!! (I'm finally an "expert" member . . . *sniff*)

Thanks to all of you how made this possible.

I'd like to thank so many people - I made a list *have it here somewhere*.

First, I'd like to thank the Blu-Clan if it wasn't for you - I wouldn't have wasted so much of my life on this little game called Warhawk and this thread.

Second - I'd like to thank my wife - for letting me play so much Warhawk (I'm pretty sure she's still in the house somewhere . . . )

No wait! I'm not done yet!

Ive actually had the pleasure of seeing it work in a ctf match, in fact with a good team working it, the other team assets were landlocked and it got to a point where the enemy did not bother getting into there warhawks anymore.

With 4 turret teams we ate anything that looked at the drop ship wrong and the dropship pilot was very capable completely able to remove from conflict and heal, he was good..

I would like to say it probably was because the entire team acted as a function, each cog had a purpose.

Yeah, that's less about the dropship and more about the complete game. Can't speak for others, but I know that a dropship doesn't scare me out of the air. It's too slow and won't knock me down.

My only air fear is getting ganged up on.

But you're right to a point. If the dropship has 4 or so players, it can be a nice addition to the field.

And since most players in CTF seem to be average at best players, it can work. Yesterday, I was informing my team that two warhawks were inbound with 3 players and they'd be dropping off 1-2 players for the flag while providing air cover. A few minutes later, the flag gets taken and driven out and people start asking how they got the flag. Unbelievable.

Even with 3 Warhawks on me and a missile turret, I killed the flag carrier 3 times on the short map, but they eventually got the cap.

I guess the good part of all that is it helps me become a better pilot. That was crazy.

Indeed,

back to what I said, I saw the dropship really only work on maps that had deep valleys and gorges that allow the drop ship to make hit and run raids
with support of warhawks as well.

When pilots when after a allied warhawk they blew up after 24 missiles would come after them.

So it was of course a full team support, warhawks supporting dropship, dropship supporting warhawks, it gets bad when you have both drop ships.

I discovered something interesting...

If you are in a dropship, please note that if your wounded get the heck out
of there instead of trying to hunt individual troops.. I was dodging and blind
firing out of my sniper rifle and actually killed a drop ship with a sniper rifle.

He was attempting a skirmish in my base and not on my base but strictly on me...
