I think my kill ratio is 1.02 or 1.03. Which was my mistake. When I first bought the game I joined ranked servers only and got killed repeatedly (really, I was quite horrible - but I was still having fun). Thing is, I didn't understand this was going on my permanent record.

i've almost reached 800 hours I think and i'm barely a Sargeant Major.

A 800 hour Sergeant Major?! - what are you doin' - flying around in circles trying to shoot your tail?!

It's all about having fun. The rank stuff is silly anyway. Oooooh, cooooool, I have neon knee pads!!! Seriously, it'd be cool if I got specialized weapons for my rank ect. After I get Commander I'm not going to bother with rank. (Or is Captain next, whatever is next is the rank I'll probably stop at).

As for hours, I hide the fact from my wife that I've played for 240 hours - if she ever found out I'd never live it down. Sometimes I feel guilty, which makes me sad, so I have to cheer myself up by playing a game of Warhawk. . . it's a vicious cycle!

I always join ranked servers as well, so i'm always trying to find new and fun ways to kill people, I suppose thats where my rank went, I don't focus on what i'm supposed to be doing for the game sometimes, I always seem to get maybe 18 points a game, sometimes lower... strange because I always get around or more then 10 kills a game.... I should focus on playing the game correctly once I get Warhawk back.

we had fish on our menu at work today so now i smell like fish, i need to change... As for rank all i want to get to is Cpt. then ill be happen but i know that the general rank has a awesome color scheme i loved for the warhawk that i fish i still had.

One of my favorite things to do is shoot the mines the person is placing. It's always funny seeing a mine kill pop up when you are using the sniper rifle. It also pisses that person off knowing you just killed them with their own mine.

Luckily, that hasn't happened yet, but I have died several times placing a mine, only to have someone come around a corner, or a plane land - and get blown up along with them. . . . . one of the hazards of being a miner.

This is kind of disturbing. Yet again something to look out for. Maybe I will just start hiding in a corner somewhere.

I never knew I caused so much suffering. . . I have decided from this day forward I will not touch a mine . . . . unless someone tries to kill me, then it's on!

I feel the same way about snipers. I spawn and try to go after them, but they disappear, only to snipe me again. I hate being sniped, cause I don't get a chance to fight back - much like mines.

If I remember correctly whenever we are playing matches against each other the mic chatter goes like this:


"Alright I'm going to fly over and help out..."

"BLAM"

If I didn't know better I'd say you account for 70% of my f bombs.

Mines are neglected by many players. I am always shocked when I drive away with the flag and don't have to go around or get blown up by one mine.

I always suggest to people that are going for points to use mines (not to mention they are great for strategic reasons of protecting zones and stopping flag carriers). Island Outpost has 8 sets of mines - 32 mines available. I get in a Warhawk and hover down, pick up mines, hover up and over to place them in zones, roads, weapons, turrets, warhawks, jeeps, etc. - I'm like a spider going up and down all over the map placing mines. I get 60 to 80 points most games and mines are my number one used weapon in my stats list.

However, one drawback is I'm paranoid of every corner, ceiling, jeep and plane - I just know there is another miner out there waiting to get me!

Seriously though, if you don't use them much and need points, I highly recommend getting to know where ever mine location is and using them frequently. Before you know it, everyone has gone and blown themselves up on your mines and you need to start placing them all over again.

I look at my points per game just as a general gauge to see how well I did. It doesn't mean I was the best player (there might have been someone who stopped our flag from being stolen repeatedly) - it's just a fun goal.

Rank doesn't really do anything except give you silly color schemes and clothes. It's really quite useless. If you like the game, play it - but don't play it for rank, it doesn't do anything for you. I aim for it as a fun, personal side goal. If it were that important to me I'd join those cheat rooms that are all over the place.

Either way, you should join us once in a while.

Back to the KDR Cymbol was talking about the other day. I was in a game the other night and the lead player on the winning team got a .117 KDR with close to a 100 points. I saw that after we had been talking about it the other day and just started laughing. I was in 2nd and only had a .8 KDR.

Like Cymbol was saying if your playing this game for stats your probably not playing the game right. Just play and have fun and watch out for the mines. Oh and the sniper rifles. And...

i play again, when trophies come out, don't wanna waste all that time and not get them now. Plus, I could never survive in a warhawk. Maybe its cause I sucked at the game, no it was because my team always sucked. Anyways, I hope i get into the game more when trophies come, because i paid for it, and don't play it much.

Yaaaaaaay!!!!! *flails arms around like Kermit the frog* my PS3 is coming on Friday, 60GB and they sent my copy of Warhawk with it! so... soon Cymbol shall be in my cross hairs... you won't know which way i'm comin' buddy...

Doesn't it work both ways? The lower the rank, the more people might pick on you, for easy points.

I don't care about rank really, I just want trophies. Time to cross my fingers and hope they show up tomorrow. Jobe hinted they'd be at the end of the month, so we'll see.

Again, I guess I don't pay enough attention to the clothes folks are wearing to target them - I'm too busy playing the game.

One drawback to always playing Sony ranked servers and ranking up is that you can't join your buddies sometimes. I tried to join Avarond last night and it said, "Your rank is too high for this limited rank server". Or my buddies are playing in rookie rooms and I can't get in. Curse my over-achieving ways!

As for the update I doubt we'll see anything today. I would think we'd have had an official announcement by now. Probably more like the middle or end of August. Wish they would just tell us what the expansion is about already.
