I know what you mean though, Cali. I just got my Commander rank and attached trophy for that rank (as well as got my 4,000th Mine kill! ); however, I don't see myself going for any higher rank.

The time involved for General is astronomical - I wouldn't even attempt it.

yeah, and you play all the time, I played when it first came out, but all the stat glitches made me leave, and I never really got back into it, kinda sad, i liked it...

I just ordered this game. How long does it take on average to become decent at it? I heard its hard.

Well, I've played it for almost 200 hours and I wouldn't call myself decent. I can usually make it into the top 3 with a few 1st places. I've picked up about 40% of trophies so far but to get some of those you are talking nearly 1000 hours of game time.

Saying all this though you can still have fun after only a few games and you can win a lot of badges and medals which feels fun, plus there is the clan you can join if there is still space.

I'd also recommend the tutorials, something I never had chance to play through... you get trophies for them also!!

Being good is relative. I'm not a gamer and not really good at these games, so I have to rely on strategy alot (I use alot of mines and various tactics to control the map as best I can).

I'm good enough to at least be a thorn in the side of the other team.

But to answer your question - it takes about a week before you'll be comfortable with the controls and understand the strategies enough to feel confident. So, don't give up the first day.

Tips:

• Go through the training (Your lucky, these training rooms just came out. Most people didn't have that benefit and went straight to fighting.)
• Try some rookie Death Matches first (This will allow you to get used to selecting your weapons as a ground troop without having to worry about strategy and looking at your map - as you would in Capture the Flag CTF, or Zones).
• Be sure and visit this thread and ask for questions and tips. You'll be surprised what you can learn from people that have been playing a long time.
• Join a Clan. It's a lot more fun when you have a buddy - or, if they are on the other team, an automatic nemesis!

Be sure and let us know what you think of the game after you played it for a while.

Another tip:

Play your first few matches in an unranked server(X over the cup symbol). That way you don't screw up your stats so bad that it takes months to recover The first few games are always bad, but you'll catch on quick. You can then move to ranked servers but make sure you stay in the rookie rooms for a while.

I hate when i get stuck on craptastic teams. I got the flag halfway across the the 32 player map of Eucadia and not 1 signle person came to help me. i fought off 2 troops and 2 warhawks, but that was all i could do. I respawned at the beginning and flew back to the middle, but the other team returned it just as i got there. It sucks being the only one going for the flag.

Indeed, nothing is more horrible than realizing you are completely on your own especially when the whole point of the game is to capture the flag.

Usually, if my team is destroying the other team, I just work on things I'm poor at like sniping. It's no fun picking on people with Warhawks that can't seem to get organized enough to fight back.

I was sniping and rifleing. I love watching the jetpack explode after you snipe them. I even dominated some guy with a pistol when he tried to come get me in my sniping spot. I am a ground guy, I only have like a 1.4 k/d in the Warhawk.

Hi. I'm kinda new to warhawk and was wondering if once you earn a metal can it be taken away? I got marksman metal 2 weeks ago. I saw it was in my metal collection (all 3 of them) and then the next day I went to play and was back down to 2 metals. Now yesterday I got the message I was being recommended for the marksman metal again but still no metal. Is this normal? Thanks

I've never had one disappear after getting it.

I've had it not show up after saying I had earned it.
And, I've had it say I earned something I already had.

This is very rare though.

But as I said, I've never had anything disappear.

Which medal at you talking about? Are you talking about medals or ribbons? You can earn more than 1 ribbon for the same achievement - but you only earn a medal once. Either you have, or you don't.

hi thanks for the response. it was defiantly a medal i was given. I've had 2 medals for what seems like forever and after i was given the marksman medal it showed 3 medals in my "medals earned" section of stats and i could see the picture of it instead of the greyed outline of it. The medal was the marksman medal=25% hit percent with any troop weapon, 50 kills and 5 IAR kills...
