Oh, I'm an Airmarshal (right above Captain) - I just know, that's probably not what I should be - due to the rank-up bug (which allows you to rank-up with out getting the required points.) I've heard of many people ranking up twice in the same day, without really getting the points needed. I don't know if it's right or not.

just start gunning for ribbons as well. I don’t really think about them that much i usually get them for being in top three (efficiency, marksman, special ops, etc.). Just keep working at it and you will improve. I sucked a ton for the first few hrs of playing Warhawk, but it has a pretty steep learning curve. I still don’t think i am good with the aerial game, damn Warhawks! But they go boom whether hit by a turret, tank, or rocket launcher!

I'm horrible in an aerial game. In a room with a 10 minute board - I got zero kills. Take a moment and let that sink in. . . . . that's bad! (I don't make the best wingman, unless you like exploding chunks of metal next to you.)

Everyone needs to set their routers ports so that they are NAT type 2. If not its only going to get harder to talk in thewer games.

Mine is NAT type 2 (hasn't seemed to help me.) But I have heard of many folks who made the switch to NAT type 2 and it fixed a lot of issues for them.

I'm at 25 hours logged in a Warhawk now and all that time has made a difference. I can actually fly a little bit now.

I've got about 1,000 kills in my Warhawk, which makes me very happy.

I'd say the first 10 hours were the worst. Unless my team had a very nice air superiority ratio (and people manning the AA helps), I'd die fast.

In the past two days I got Master Swarm and Master MG badges in my hawk.

I love flying now. Oh, except when I'm outnumbered 3-4:1.

My next step is to learn how to fly with Pro Flight controls.

We have has lots of problem with people that are type 3. In fact I helped switch most of the blu team over to type 2. And it really fixed a lot of problems. Newer games will be maditory to be type 2 to communicate.

You really need to get it fixed, so we can do some more mining If all else fails, do what I did. Ditch the bluetooth mic and go back to a usb mic. I had trouble and just broke out the ol Socom USB headset, have not had any problems since.

Yeah, it kinda crappy with a wired headset, but at least you can hear and Talk!

I bought a new mic and haven't had any problems since. I can hear voice now and I never have issues with it not working during the game.

Well, I have a 65" screen, so I'm pretty far back. Not sure if a 12ft cord is available or practicle.

I was able to talk today - for some reason it worked great today (that's my real problem - it comes and goes). Got to play with movies3 (ashliz) and Jedivball for a bit.

And she heard me talk! This is proof that my mic actually does work and I'm not some crazy man sitting around with tin foil on my head - wondering why no one can hear me.

As for mining, yep - that's my favorite weapon. I love when someone is chasing you through a narrow alley and you leave a mine as you're running and hear a boom behind you. Very funny.

I love air mines. It's fun when some over-aggressive pilot is on your tail through all the bends. Just select air mine, deploy and laugh.

Although I wish I could re-configure the weapon selection thing. Lots of times I try to get the corner weapon quick and it just keeps going to the down weapon.

For more fun, try sniping. I spent about 15 minutes of a game yesterday doing it and got 9 kills, which included sniping someone out of a jeep going at full speed and some nice running kills.

And half of the fun was moving after kills and watching people go to my old spot.

Think I've played CTF too much. I'm a mine expert now. In the beginning I would place my stuff by the flag. Now I know better. I actually spent time "acting" like the enemy to find entry and blind points for my mines.

I can just imagine a killed enemy saying: "Who the hell puts a mine here?"

I need a break.

Reading your post made me realize just how much I Love this game. There are so many great aspects to it.

We think alike..I must have had over 20 kills the other night just with mines in the Summit command base..drove one guy absolutely crazy...must have killed him 10 times as he kept changing his approach/path because I kept anticpating what he was going to try next..hope their were no younger folks listening in on his team..can't imagine the language was pretty..

Where do you guys find these mines all the time? I occasionally stumble on some, but more often than not I can't find them anywhere.

You learn where they spawn eventually. I've played these maps way too much.

It's best to create a local game and just got see where they spawn. Otherwise you might have trouble if other players keep taking them.

Come talk to me when you multiple knife kills. I have killed 2 at once about 5 times and 4 one time.

I got Warhawk today, I charged my headset and turned it on, my ps3 has been Scanning for like a half hour and does not see this thing.....i tried it with my cellphone and it worked, so I know the headset works, anyone have any suggestions on why this is not working with the ps3, btw it is the jabra that comes with the boxed version

As Copywriter said just create a local game and get familiar where they spawn..some layouts like Summit Command or High vs Low on the Eucadia map lend themselves to constantly being able to grab the mines, place them, by that time they have respawned and you just keep cycling..if you keep up the pace you get "ahead" and even have 4 in your back pocket at all times and mines everywhere..

So even as they send in a wave of infantry/jeeps that blow your mines up or a plane with a cluster bomb to clear the flag area..you just pop them back in immediately from your "backpocket"..they think no way there couldn't possibly be any mines anymore, run for the flag and .. die...by the time the next wave can get back in sufficient numbers your set up all over again . And the lone wolfs are taking care of by "strategic" placements covering the backdoors..

Unless they send a lot of people it's challenging to defeat..the more they send to breakthrough the better for you team stealing their flag . So your defense is really part of the offense.

Of course the whole thing falls apart/works depending on the skill level of your teammates and your opponents and yourself.

This weekend sucked. I'd say 75% of the time lvl 4 games felt like "I just bought the game" city. I'm not talking about a couple of guys, I mean almost the whole team.

I can't wait for the rank stuff to be fixed. Newer people are being forced to play General games, which just pisses off everyone.

As to Knife kills, I'm getting more and more. I got 2 kills within one second tonight, but I think it was two swipes. The guys were trying to recover the flag, so I knifed them, took the flag and went home. I love knifing guys in jeeps.

Oh, here's a tip. If you're newer to CTF, flying, et al, play 24-player games, not 32. The 24-player games are much, much easier and the maps are smaller. Not having the extra 8 guys (4 against) and larger maps helps.

Anyone else hate the destroyed capital map? I think it sucks. When it comes up (smaller games), I just play defense unless the flag comes out of their zone. It's a great map for that.
