im most likely not... heavenly sword comes out pretty close to warhawk so im gonna save my money to get that

I would not be surprised if the retail disc version operates much like a install disc, and you need the disc as a boot disc to prevent letting your friends borrow it and not have to pay for it. I remember someone found that if you installed Ridge Racer 7, you only needed the disc to boot the game and for it to play the in game music. Other then that, you could play off the install file once the game booted up.

The other option could be having an account key in the package so you just install the game and input the account key to prevent pirating and never use the disc again.

Of course the people that downloaded the game from PSN would not have to go through this, because Sony would know they paid for their version and are not giving out free copies.

To me, it does not make much sense to have two versions of the game where one runs off the HDD and the other off of a BD. Especially since this game has no single player and is only playable online.

You make some really good points here. I am also curious to see how this will work. Will the discs have a key or will they install something on the drive? I know that the creators dealt with a bunch of different issues during the beta trial to learn how to prevent certain "advantages" from occurring when playing. My buddies and I have been discussing how it might be a bit "dangerous" to share discs like this (if Sony or the Server can recognize a shared disc or, eventually, a copy then you would be on a quick trip to getting banned from the network and since every PS3 has it's own unique signature it's not like you could just get a new e-mail account to rejoin). OR would they treat it like (what I believe most companies already do) a good thing that people are SHARING (not pirating) new games and hopefully enlarging their install base with these other folks who play it and then get their own copy?

Either way, this could be the game that the PS3 has been needing. At the least it should get that dirty Madden taste out of my mouth. Stupid EA.

The thing I noticed while watching the trailers, the jet parts look incredible, while all the other stuff doesnt. Im still getting it though.

I pre-ordered it. But my Resistance clan, Justice Squad, will be moving to Warhawk, and I'll stick with them.

I would be in the Blu can, but my Resistance clan is ranked #25 worldwide.

I like to win.

i think they answered 'no' in the big FAQ last week on the playstation blog. keyboard support for chat i think, but not for gameplay.
