Tonight was a historic night.

I was playing 4v4 for hours and controlling the air. At one point someone asked me to stop flying.

And someone got so pissed that they sent me a long message about how I'm a "f-word" etc.

Wow.

Default Warhawk Expansion 'Operation: Omega Dawn' Contents Revealed!

Warhawk Expansion 'Operation: Omega Dawn' Contents Revealed!

Quote:
New Warhawk™ downloadable pack coming to PLAYSTATION®Network this December

Announcing Operation: Omega Dawn
Get a brand new map and a new aircraft: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship. All this in one download from PLAYSTATION®Network

The battle began this August when Warhawk™ went online on PLAYSTATION®Network (PSN). Since then, the fighting has spanned the globe as PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) gamers of all nationalities battle for supremacy in this world of multiplayer military confrontation. Whether you’re fending for yourself or enlisting in a team of Eucadian or Chernovan forces to wage war on foot, at the controls of a tank or from the cockpit of the fearsome Warhawk, there’s non-stop action ahead in Warhawk – and it’s about to get even better with the PSN release of Operation: Omega Dawn, the first downloadable Warhawk expansion pack exclusively available from PLAYSTATION®Store. Operation: Omega Dawn delivers a new gameplay experience that expands the title’s strategic gameplay elements by offering a new world to explore and introducing a unique aircraft to the Warhawk universe: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship.

With Operation: Omega Dawn, the war between the Eucadians and the Chernovans forces continues as the two countries fight to control the high-tech facilities of a critical new battlefield – the Omega Factory. The battle takes place in an entirely new world - an industrial night-time setting where players will fight through five new layouts of advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers. The new map supports all existing game modes – including Team Deathmatch, Zone Mode and Capture the Flag – and is the largest combat zone to date for Warhawk!

But that’s not all; no new battlefield would be complete without a new piece of kit, and Operation: Omega Dawn comes complete with a serious toy which will enhance the already intense Warhawk experience: the KT-424 Combat Dropship. You’ll activate the vehicle once you gain control of one of the many weapons factories on the world; once you have it, you’re in charge of an advanced aircraft capable of carrying seven soldiers and a ground vehicle at once. The KT-424 Combat Dropship transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon. You’ll have loads of opportunity to take full advantage of the new KT-424 Combat Dropship because the new world is full of vertical gameplay which integrates ship decks, raised platforms, and factory rooftops accessible only by airborne deployment.

Are you ready for Operation: Omega Dawn? Only the fiercest, most visionary and most disciplined teams of soldiers can hope to carry the day. We’ll see you there – locked and loaded - on PSN this December.

Operation: Omega Dawn pack features:

Set at night for added impact and tension, the Operation: Omega Dawn pack for Warhawk™ features an enhanced level of teamwork, tactics and coordinated aerial assaults with the new KT-424 Combat Dropship.
  • Omega Factory battlefield includes 5 new map layouts featuring advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers.
  • KT-424 Combat Dropship transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon.
  • The 5 large layouts from the original battlefields have been modified to include the KT-424 Combat Dropship.
  • All this in one single download from PLAYSTATION Network this December

Three things come to mind with this update.

1. THANK YOU!

2. Tasty Dropship air kills thanks to inexperienced pilots.

3. Sniper-fest.

I wonder if they've done anything different with the graphics because it's a nighttime map. Torches and headlamps on players and vehicles for example. How awesome would it be if the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon had a giant spotlight attached so you can track the player/vehicle you're shooting more easily but the victim also knows they're being tracked.

That brings up a point. What if the tall buildings had spotlights on top that you could operate?

It would be like a prison break.

Wonderful. I really like the night setting. I wouldn't mind more environments.

What is the expected price on this? And is this expected to be early or late December? Definately glad to hear this confirmed. Sounds like a blast.

@Copywriter - sorry about the teamkill. Man, I had a few of those last night. I thought your name tag was only showing up from a lower level of the guy I hit with the tow missle.

Anyway, I didn't have my mic on since it was so late and I couldn't have the t.v. up too loud anyway. They had one guy on their team last night that was really good.

(By the way, was that a ranked room?)

Can't wait for the update in Dec.!!!!!!

I'm kind of bummed that the Warhawk 1.2 update will "fix" the fall damage. I really liked being able to drive my jeep or tank off the side of a cliff with no damage and keep on going.

I think they said that this one will be free.

Cymbol, that's okay (TK). I was just messing with ya (if you heard me on mic).

1.2 will definitely impact CTF play. The no reset timer function will be interesting. I bet flag caps will decrease. And sudden death comes too!

I can't think of one game (PS3) that has had a better one. The details just posted are only part of the story.

Yeah, I heard you.

Actually, I just remembered, you TK me too - with a tank!

It's all fun for me.

What has been stange is, I've been in more and more rooms with people purposefully team killing.

What is really funny - is when the gameplay varies and it goes from DM to CTF, and some newbie gets switched to the Red team and starts shooting everyone thinking he is still in DM. (Come to think of it, I think I did that when I first started! )

I'm going to be playing in a few hours.

Don't forget, this game just came out the other month. I'm very happy with the update, especially if it's free. How can I complain about that?

Yeah, that's PC and you're right. They charge a decent fee, but you get a ton of stuff.

If this patch were to cost, I'd bet it would be in the $4.99 range, but if memory serves, it's free.

And yeah, if we get a PC-style expansion, I've got no problem spending the cash for it.

As to Tking, it happens. I usually TK someone on accident about once per 4-5 games. It's usually because I don't see em. If I know someone is there, I'll setup and wait to see if they die.

I just looked and there are only 3 ribbons I haven't earned yet, so I think I'll stay out of the air tonight and try to get them.

Well, I just got off. Assure showed up on my team. Good to see someone with some sniping skills.

All I can say is - these point requirements are quite steep. That is a LOT of playtime to get those. Even if you get 100 points a game - at 20/30 minutes a game - that's a lot of time to get 5,000 points, 10,000 points, for certain ranks.

I usually try and join ranked games. That way, if I get some cool badge I get to keep it.

Oh well, little by little.

Man! I can't wait for the Dec. update.

I hope to be on during the afternoon tomorrow if anybody is around.
